Thinking about anti-wrinkle treatment but worried you’ll look frozen? You’re definitely not alone.

Understanding what the treatment actually does can make the whole idea feel a lot less intimidating.

It works by temporarily reducing communication between specific nerves and muscles, reducing muscle contraction and the repetitive folding of the skin.

But every face moves differently which is why assessment, individualised treatment and realistic expectations matter and we we can’t give you a quote over a message.

And remember: it’s a prescription medicine, with potential risks and side effects, and it isn’t suitable for everyone.

Nervous? Ask questions first. A consultation is just that. A time to ask questions. You are absolutely not obligated to go ahead with treatment if you’re not ready 🤍

Confidently You. 🤍

Why we don’t LOVE Retrieve as your Vitamin A

Retrieve (tretinoin) is often talked about as the gold standard of Vitamin A.

And yes — it works. There’s plenty of evidence behind it.

But does that mean it’s the best choice for every skin?

We don’t think so.

Tretinoin is retinoic acid the active form of Vitamin A. It doesn’t need to go through the same conversion steps in the skin that other forms of Vitamin A do.

Which is partly why it works so well.

But it’s also why some skins really struggle with it.

Redness, peeling, burning, dryness, sensitivity… and then we’re told this is all part of the process and we just need to “push through”.

That’s the bit we don’t love.

There are gentler forms of Vitamin A that allow your skin to convert them gradually into retinoic acid.

Do they take a little longer? Yes.

Is that necessarily a bad thing? No.

We’re much more interested in what your skin can tolerate consistently over the long term than simply prescribing the strongest option because it’s the strongest.

Retrieve absolutely has its place. For the right skin, it can be brilliant.

But if we can get the benefits of Vitamin A, supporting collagen, pigmentation, cell turnover and overall skin health without constantly upsetting your skin barrier, we’d rather do that.

Because when it comes to skin, stronger doesn’t always mean better.

And red, peeling and irritated isn’t necessarily a sign that your skincare is “working”. Sometimes it’s simply your skin telling you it’s too much.

Guess who didn’t go to Appearance Coach… 👀

Injectables shouldn’t be the first thing you notice when you look at someone.

We’re not here to give you someone else’s lips, someone else’s cheeks or change the face that makes you you.

Our approach has always been simple: thoughtful treatments, appropriate amounts, and knowing when enough is enough.

Because great cosmetic medicine doesn’t need to announce itself.

You should still look like you.
Just fresher. Rested. Confident.

Natural. Undetectable. Confidently You.

It’s true. We can do incredible things with cosmetic injectables but we can’t give you a facelift 🤍

We like to keep things real here at Appearance Coach 👊

There is so much information available to us now; ChatGPT, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook groups, friends, neighbours… and some of it is genuinely really helpful.

The tricky part is knowing what information is relevant to you.

Cosmetic injectables aren’t a one-size-fits-all treatment. What is appropriate for one person may be completely inappropriate for another.

When we assess you, we’re looking at far more than the area you’d like treated. We’re considering your anatomy, facial structure and movement, medical history, previous treatments, product choice, potential risks and, most importantly, what you’re actually trying to achieve.

So please, do your research. We actually love when clients come in informed and asking questions.

But use what you’ve read online as the start of the conversation, not your treatment plan.

There’s a big difference between having access to information and knowing how to apply it safely to the person sitting in front of you.

And that’s exactly why cosmetic injectables are medical treatments. 🤍

PDRN stands for Polydeoxyribonucleotide.

In simple terms, it’s a regenerative ingredient made up of small DNA fragments that are used to help support skin repair and regeneration.

Originally, PDRN was studied and used in wound healing and regenerative medicine because of its ability to help support tissue recovery and cellular repair processes.

In aesthetics and skincare, PDRN is valued because it may help support:
• collagen production
• hydration
• skin healing
• barrier repair
• inflammation control
• overall skin quality and resilience

You’ll often hear PDRN described as a “regenerative” ingredient because the focus isn’t simply masking concerns temporarily it’s about supporting healthier skin function over time.

Why is everyone talking about it right now?

Because the aesthetics industry is shifting towards regenerative skin health:
✨ improving skin quality
✨ supporting repair
✨ strengthening the skin barrier
✨ reducing inflammation
✨ promoting healthier-looking skin long term

PDRN can now be found in:
• injectable regenerative treatments
• post-procedure healing products
• advanced skincare formulations

At Appearance Coach, we’re especially excited about the new REGEN PDRN+ range from LIRA Clinical, which combines PDRN technology with advanced ingredients designed to support hydration, repair, and healthier skin function.

Think of it this way:

Traditional skincare often focuses on correcting visible problems.

Regenerative skincare focuses on helping the skin function better overall 🤍
