Recently I’ve been asked how I seem to “do it all”… and honestly, I had to laugh because my reality doesn’t feel that way.

They clearly hadn’t seen the mess my kitchen was left in the morning or the toothpaste that had been drooled on my jacket, or the mini argument I'd had with my daughter to get her shoes on.

But then when I thought about it...how I have achieved what I have recently probably comes down to a few key things:

1. Filling my cup EVERY day
This is non-negotiable. Whether it’s exercise, meditation, or breathwork, I make it happen. Even 5 minutes counts. (5 minutes of scrolling could easily be 5 minutes of breathwork)

2. Who I surround myself with
I have a supportive husband who truly lets me be myself, and I choose to be around kind, motivated people. Energy is contagious, and being around negativity can bring you down more than you realise.

3. Deciding what I actually want.
When you’re clear on your goals, it’s so much easier to stay focused.
And I always remind myself: consistency over perfection.
Showing up tired and doing what I can is always better than not showing up at all.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, try starting with just one of these and see how it feels

Such a beautiful afternoon spent with so many incredible women, all showing up to support their bodies through stressful times 💛

I’ll be honest, I had some doubts about running this workshop. At the end of last year, workshop attendance was low across many industries (not just mine), likely due to the cost of living and rising petrol prices. Winter can also be a quieter season, and with a full schedule of 1:1 clients, I wasn’t sure I’d have the time or energy to truly show up at my best.

But wow… I’m SO glad I did ✨

Everything flowed so naturally, and it meant so much to everyone who came. So many of you shared afterwards how much it helped and that truly means everything to me.

We laughed, we nearly cried, we sipped on delicious tea, and the breathwork brought an instant sense of calm and relief 🌿

The only complaint? Not being able to write notes fast enough 😄

This is definitely a workshop I’ll be bringing back very soon.

If you’d love to join a future workshop (or even organise a private one), make sure you like/follow along or check out the website for upcoming events.

After 6 years of constant training, today was my last Taekwondo session… for now. 🥋✨

I’ve decided to take a well-earned break. With my son making the regional football team, life has shifted into full weeks and weekends of kids’ sport, and honestly, it felt like the right time for me too.
What an epic journey it’s been.

It started when my son was 7 (now 13). I wanted him to try martial arts to build discipline. After reaching out to every club in the greater Kāpiti region, only one replied, Mozhdeh Marital Arts. Who offered him a free trial that very day (what incredible service!). That one yes changed everything.

Before long, our whole family was involved. My daughter started at 4 and earned her junior black belt by 6. Watching my kids train, I remember thinking, “This actually looks like fun… I may as well join in instead of sitting here for 2 hours.” And so I did. Years later so did my husband who even trained alongside my daughter.

What followed pushed me far beyond what I thought I was capable of.
Earning my black belt last year was intense to say the least, physically, emotionally, and mentally. Training almost every day, showing up when it was hard, and proving to myself that I could.

Only about 2% of people who start martial arts make it to black belt. Around 25% of those are female, and fewer than 10% are over the age of 40. So all statistics were against me.

I’m so proud to be part of that.
This journey has taught me:
✨ Age is just a number
✨ Girls can do anything
✨ You are never too old to start something new
And yes… I now have better abs now than I did in my 20s 😅

It wasn’t without challenges. I had injuries, some minor, some major, including tearing two muscles in my glute and hamstring. (I couldn’t exercise for 2 months). But I adapted, rested, and came back eventually breaking wood for my Cho Dan Bo Belt with the very kick that caused that injury.

This isn’t the end of my Taekwondo journey. I haven’t ruled out returning… or even going for my second Dan next year.
For now, it’s pause, not stop. 💫
Grateful for every lesson, every challenge, and every moment on the mat. ❤️

One of the most underrated longevity and fat loss hacks?

Sleep. 😴

You might actually be able to sleep your way to a longer, leaner life.

A large-scale study (172,000+ adults) found that men who get enough sleep live around 5 years longer than those who don’t — for women, it’s about 2 years.

And it’s not just about lifespan… it’s how you feel day to day.

When sleep drops:
– your risk of heart disease, dementia + diabetes rises
– belly fat is more likely to accumulate
– hunger hormones (ghrelin + leptin) get disrupted
– cravings go up, willpower goes down

In fact, in one study, people who slept just 4 hours ate ~350 extra calories the next day — without even trying.

So if you’re working on your health, energy, or weight…
don’t overlook the basics.

Before you cut carbs, count calories, or overhaul everything —
ask yourself: am I actually sleeping enough?

Because sometimes the most powerful shifts…
are the simplest ones 💛

Low mood, low energy, feeling a bit “off”… but nothing obviously wrong?

This is often where nutrition gets overlooked.

Your brain is constantly using nutrients to produce neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, regulate inflammation, and respond to stress. If you’re running low (or your gut isn’t absorbing well), you’ll feel it — mentally and physically.

The foods in this post aren’t magic fixes, but they *do* provide key building blocks your nervous system relies on:
→ omega-3s for brain signalling
→ magnesium for calming the stress response
→ antioxidants to protect brain cells
→ probiotics to support the gut-brain connection

It’s not about perfection — it’s about giving your body what it needs, consistently.

Start small. Add, don’t restrict.

Which one could you include this week?

Save this as a gentle reminder, or follow along if you want more practical, evidence-based support for mood, energy and hormones 🤍

BROCCOLI BREAD 🥦✨

One of my favourite ways to turn simple ingredients into something deeply nourishing, comforting, and gut-friendly.

This broccoli bread is packed with fibre, protein, and minerals to support your energy, digestion, and overall wellbeing — and it’s SO easy to make.

Think:
💚 Prebiotic fibre for your gut
💪 Protein to keep you full and balanced
🌿 Minerals like calcium, magnesium & zinc for hormones, stress + immunity
🥦Sulphane in the broccoli supports estrogen metabolism
Perfect served warm with butter, alongside a soup, or just on its own straight from the oven (my favourite 😍)

You’ll need:
1 cup organic flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 head broccoli, grated
⅓ cup Parmesan
3 eggs
1 clove garlic
Salt + pepper
Pumpkin seeds on top

Mix, bake at 180°C for ~30 mins, and enjoy 💫

Simple. Nourishing. Delicious. Even your kids may love it!

Save this for your next cosy baking moment 🤍Full recipe here!

Over a week ago I tore my piriformis muscle... and wow, it stopped me in my tracks.

I was told by my doctor to avoid intense exercise while it healed. I kept up daily walks (even through that deep ache), knowing this season was temporary… but what really surprised me were the side effects.

My mood dropped... a lot!
I felt way more irritable, reacting to the kids in ways I normally wouldn’t. My patience was thinner, falling asleep became harder, and as many of you know… when sleep is off, everything feels off.

Here’s why 👇🏼
When we exercise, our muscles release “hope molecules” (known as *myokines*). These are powerful little proteins that act like natural antidepressants — reducing stress, supporting brain function, lifting mood, and calming inflammation in the body.

Even though I kept up breath-work and gentle movement, I felt the shift quickly.

This is your reminder:
✨ Exercise is not just physical — it’s mental and emotional health too
✨ Movement truly supports your whole system — body, mind, and spirit

The good news? I’m healing. I made it back to vinyasa yoga this morning and I can already feel *me* coming back.

Don’t underestimate the science-backed power of movement 🤍
