Bringing a rescue pet into your life can be one of the most rewarding decisions you’ll ever make 🐾❤️

But it’s not just about choosing with your heart, it’s about choosing with your lifestyle too. The right match makes all the difference ✨

Many behaviour and welfare challenges don’t come from “difficult” animals, but from mismatched homes. When you take the time to find the right fit, everyone thrives.

🐶🐱 Thinking of adopting?

Mark Vette shares what to consider when choosing a rescue pet, so you can set both you and your new companion up for success.

7 Life Hacks to Help You Eat Healthier 🍎

Healthy eating doesn’t have to mean strict rules or hours in the kitchen 👏 It’s the small habits that make the biggest difference.

✨ Try these easy swaps:

1. Cook in bulk
2. Take healthy snacks to work
3. Plan your meals
4. Eat before going out
5. Grocery shop on a full stomach
6. Save time on dinner prep
7. Don't keep junk food in the house

It sounds easy and obvious, but when you're tired everything can go out the window. By making a few simple tweaks here and there to your routine can make healthy choices the easier choices, keeping takeaway nights as a treat, not the norm 🙌

Kidney Stones: What You Need to Know 🪨

Did you know 1 in 10 Kiwis will experience kidney stones in their lifetime? 😖 It’s often described as one of the most painful conditions leading to over 4,000 hospital visits each year.

So what are kidney stones?
They’re hard deposits that form in your kidneys. Some are tiny and pass without you even noticing. But when they’re larger they can cause severe pain, nausea, vomiting and may need medical treatment to break them down.

👀 Watch out for symptoms:
– Constant urge to p*e
– Pain when p*eing
– Difficulty or inability to p*e

💡 Good news, they can be prevented!
– Drink more water
– Reduce salt intake
