👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️Pacific Health Plus were invited to participate in the Porirua City Council Careers Expo, alongside many local colleges, for a free event designed for students and school leavers across our community. As a Pasifika provider in health, it was important for us to be part of this. We attended to encourage our youth to consider a career in health, to promote our General Practice and the importance of using GP services, and to show our faces as Pasifika staff to the very community we serve. Health is a field full of opportunity, and we want our young people to know that there is a place for them in it. We hope that seeing familiar faces, people who look like them and come from the same communities, makes that feel a little more real.

Working in health is both rewarding and fulfilling, and we would love nothing more than to see our next generation walk through that door.Health is a career full of purpose, and it could be yours.

What a night at Sky Stadium.

Last Friday, Pacific Health Plus was proud to be present at the Hurricanes match, connecting with our community in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

As a Pacific-led general practice and the only Pacific-led GP practice in the central region, showing up for our communities is something we take seriously. Being visible beyond the clinic walls strengthens connection, trust and wellbeing.

Families, young people and friendly faces — the energy on the night was something special and a reminder of why we do what we do. Meeting needs and changing lives starts with being present.

It was also a reminder that strong communities look out for one another and celebrate safely together.

A sincere thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect with us. It was a privilege to be present with our communities and share in the positive spirit of the evening.

Ioana brings lived experience, professional expertise, and deep Pacific values to this role, alongside a strong commitment to strengthening systems, clinical quality, and our shared purpose of meeting needs and changing lives.

Her formal welcome was grounded in faith, family, and collective responsibility, reflecting the Pacific truth that leadership is never walked alone. Supported by her village, her whānau, and her community, Ioana steps forward carrying the values that guide us all.
