Last week Bernie attended and presented at the World Indigenous Cancer Conference 2026. To say she was nervous was an understatment, but she's lived to tell the tale and has been in awe of those who are adept at presenting and sharing information at this level.

The presentation title: Weaving Oncology Massage through Te Whare Tapa Whā. Something to build on for her masters thesis next year.

The plenary presentations were fantastic! Hearing from leading indigenous practitioners from across the world. All of whom are doing amazing work in their respective fields.

We have had a Hivamat at our studio for nearly two years and have been using it with clients who have lymphoedema, lipoedema, post-op swelling, scar tissue, tendinopathy and even for relaxation. The response is really positive making the significant financial investment worth it.

Jacqui Beutel of Lymphoedema Therapy Training and Education has produced a great video telling us a bit about it.
