🫁 1. Breathing Helps Stabilise Your Trunk
When you breathe into your ribs and upper back (instead of letting your belly rise), your deep core muscles can stay switched on.
This area is called your Powerhouse — it’s the group of muscles that protect your lower back and help you move with control.
If you take a big belly breath, the tummy lifts and the core switches off.
When the core switches off, the lower back has to work harder, which can lead to discomfort or injury.

✋ 2. Try This
Sit or stand with your hands on the sides of your ribcage.
• Inhale: Feel your ribs widen sideways and into your back
• Exhale: Feel your ribs draw back together
• Goal: Keep the belly as still as possible
