I am passionate about working with primarily mums, fantastic at looking after their gorgeous families but in doing so have neglected themselves, their own health, fitness and happiness and found themselves with a poor relationship with food. Together we work online on a number of different aspects of health, nutrition, lifestyle and mindset to help them to feel their happiest and healthiest selves

both inside and out to enable them to feel alive and energised to best show up for those closest to them every day.

Endurance progress isn’t dramatic that’s for sure…we’re playing a long game, ticking off one session at a time.

Repetitive, slow, tiny decisions all day every day, adding up. I was reminded last week when over analysing EVERY session ‘Anna, it really isn’t that deep’.

A bit like the fundraising thing in all honesty, a long old game! That’s SO much harder than I thought and genuinely the hardest thing about all of this!

I think sometimes people imagine charity fundraising as one huge moment or one huge donation and maybe I naively went into this thinking it would be more straightforward than it is. Do the thing and the fundraising will come. Actually, far from it, it’s a learning curve for sure! Lots of smaller acts of support that slowly building into something really meaningful, but we still have LOTS of work to do.

The money being raised for will help fund free cancer rehabilitation support for young people across the UK, while also improving accessibility and grow the programme so we can support even more people in the future.

To put it into perspective - £5,000 could help around 6 young people access support through the programme while also investing in systems and accessibility improvements that could eventually help hundreds more every year.

That makes every donation, event, share and conversation feel important, even the ones that seem small. What you do is NEVER too small. It means SO much.

Anyway… back to eating enormous amounts of spaghetti and pretending I’m a mermaid on long swims just to get through 🧜🏽‍♀️ fun fact…I even have mermaid nails at the moment to try and channel some positive swimming energy!

Still thinking about Thursday night 💛🇮🇹

What started as an idea over a drink with turned into something super special for me.

Some lovely people came along to walk, jog, run, donate, chat, drink spritzes, support the fundraiser and just be part of a genuinely lovely atmosphere and honestly, that’s all I ever wanted.

A mega thank you to everyone who showed up, donated to , brought energy and kindness to the evening, and helped make it feel so welcoming and relaxed.

Massive thank you as well to for opening specially for us and supporting the fundraiser so generously, and to for creating the perfect atmosphere with her music ✨ and of course, beautiful and kind for supporting me and the charity so beautifully.

This challenge and fundraiser means a lot to me personally, and seeing people get behind it was amazing.

I’m absolutely not a person who thrives on holding events and being around lots of people and I have to admit I was nervous, but you have to do these things to have a genuine fundraising impact and to see so many people supporting something that means so much to me I can’t even explain, was special.

Ahh how powerful community can be when people come together for something good.

Nobody does something like this challenge alone.

Behind every long ride, run or swim at the moment, it feels like there is a small army of people helping me hold everything together and firmly on my team, and honestly, I’m not sure what I’d do without them. From doing morning dog walks for me, to programming and checking in on every session, to debriefing with .helen about how our nutrition practice felt, alongside a glorious army of cheerleaders.

Alongside that there is the WONDERFUL Clare at who I cannot thank enough for supporting me recently through challenge prep with osteopathic treatment, advice and reassurance that the way I’m feeling is absolutely normal with a big old training volume, helping this tired body to do its very best 😅

Training at this volume inevitably comes with niggles, tightness, fatigue and having Clare, so knowledgeable and supportive helping me navigate that has been invaluable the past few weeks.

More than that though, the generosity and kindness she’s shown this project has genuinely meant so much to me, giving up so much of her precious time, energy and expertise to support, especially when running her own business.

I’m so lucky to have such good people around me as this challenge gets closer 💛

If you’re local and looking for someone brilliant, compassionate and knowledgeable, I honestly couldn’t recommend her more!

We will ALL be impacted by cancer in some way, shape or form throughout our lives. If we can do one thing to potentially lessen how cruel that feels, especially something that can add SO much more to our lives than ‘just’ an increased chance of cancer survival, then why the hell wouldn’t we?!

One thing .helen and I have been working really hard on recently is event day nutrition, what actually works for me while training, travelling, events and fuelling for long days at the moment.

There’s no perfect formula. What works one week might not the next which is a hard lesson! Sometimes your tum says ‘no’, timing is off, or you just need more fuel than you think…actually always the last one.

We’ve been practising strategies ahead of the challenge, massively increasing carbs, hydration and playing with timing and testing different products to find what feels sustainable for my bod over time.

Also, how valuable is external support?! Even with a nutrition background, having objective guidance when training volume and fatigue are high is invaluable 🤍

Very grateful to .helen for helping me navigate all of this, and to Dan at whose daily advice continues to be “eat more” 😂

Good coaching is so much more than a training plan, and what I say ‘good’ coaching, it’s the biggest understatement going.

programs my sessions and somehow manages to make me voluntarily do things (and love them!) I’d absolutely never choose to do on my own (hello 4km swims multiple times a week before work!) 😅 but honestly, from sessions, the daily messages and calls when I want them checking in, fuelling, all of it.

Fuelling hasn’t always come naturally to me and Dan understands. I can very easily slip into “that’ll do” territory with nutrition despite a nutrition background, what this can easily lead to with a higher physical activity volume than ever in my life, is under-fuelling and convincing myself I’m “fine” because I’m doing better than I ever have. Dan doesn’t let me get away with that, and neither does .helen – more on Helen and what we have been working on later in the week!

There have been many phone calls with Dan, voice notes and messages that essentially amount to:
“Have you eaten enough? No, more than that. That’s a fuelling issue”

While that can feel uncomfortable at times and we sometimes laugh about it, that support genuinely matters to me more than I can explain.

I have a disordered eating history, fuelling properly for performance is something I actively work on despite nutrition knowledge - having people around me who understand the demands and reinforce the importance of fuelling and recovery is invaluable.

won’t let me rest on my laurels, physically or nutritionally, and that accountability and consistency is a huge part of why training is progressing the way it is.

I’m incredibly grateful for the support, patience, constant encouragement and the fact he’s somehow always at the end of the phone or a message, despite having his own life, lots of training, multiple amazing athletes and the amount of nonsense I probably send across.

Challenge prep is a team effort. Thank you so, so much 🌻
