Healthy Active LearningConnect | Wairoa 2026

How special it is when our Wairoa tumuaki and kaiako come together on day two of Term 4, making time in their busy schedules to connect, listen to the kōrero and focus on what matters most, the oranga and wellbeing of our tamariki.
An afternoon filled with whanaungatanga, meaningful kōrero and some absolutely reka kai!

A huge mihi to Heemi from Physical Education New Zealand, who had us captivated with his expertise and mātauranga. Heemi has a real gift for taking something that can feel overwhelming, particularly with the new PE curriculum, and breaking it down into practical, meaningful kōrero to take back to Wairoa kura with greater clarity and confidence.

A reminder that we don't have to navigate these changes alone. When we come together, share knowledge and learn alongside one another, we strengthen the mahi we do for our tamariki.

Ko te mea nui, ko te oranga o ngā tamariki.
The most important thing is the wellbeing of our children.

Healthy Active Learning Parakuihi 2026

He ataahua te hui, he kaha te kotahitanga!

A privilege to bring together our amazing kaiako, tumuaki, school leaders and partners for our 2026 Healthy Active Learning Parakuihi, alongside Heemi McDonald from Physical Education New Zealand and Daniel Murfitt from the Ministry of Education NZ.

A morning filled with kōrero, connection and shared whakaaro about the impact we can make together through the new PE curriculum, quality physical education, movement, play and hauora in our kura.
