Introducing EVM’s latest creation – Āngiangi Tincture

Āngiangi (also known as Old Man’s Beard or Usnea) is a revered native lichen within traditional rongoā Māori, valued for both its practical healing uses and its subtle, energetic support. Growing slowly in relationship with its environment, Āngiangi carries the energy and vibration of purification, protection, and resilience.

Traditionally and in modern herbal practice, it has been used to support the body through seasonal challenges, particularly when the skin, lungs, or immune system are under strain.

Āngiangi is often referred to as “the lungs of the forest” as it absorbs pollution from the ngahere. It is known for its powerful antibacterial, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties and has traditionally been used to support a wide range of ailments, including:

• Skin health & protection: Within rongoā and herbal traditions, Āngiangi has been used to support the skin’s natural repair processes, helping to cleanse, protect, and restore balance where the skin barrier has been challenged. Traditionally used for cuts, scrapes, staph infections, impetigo, athlete’s foot, and other skin concerns (balm coming soon)

• Respiratory ease & immune support: Prepared as a tincture, Āngiangi is traditionally used to support clear breathing and chest comfort. Modern herbalism also recognises its role in supporting immune resilience, particularly during the winter months. It has been used to help clear chest congestion, soothe irritated lungs, and support the body during colds, sore throats, and bronchitis or pleurisy-type symptoms (great in a nebuliser)

I’ve been on a gentle digital detox over the past six to eight weeks, turning inward and tuning deeply into nature and myself.

Much of that time has been spent on the road, travelling in my van, embracing the nomadic rhythm, and soaking up the magic of some truly beautiful festivals, retreats and the stunning scenery Aotearoa has to offer.

I’m just beginning to step back into the world now, and with that comes some exciting new opportunities ✨ Sacred sound journeys are on the horizon, so keep an eye on this space for upcoming offerings and dates.

I’m also in the process of rebranding my range of beautiful natural products: balms, natural deodorants, and all the other plant-based yummies, into the EVM brand: Energy & Vibrational Medicine. Because at the end of the day, everything is energy and vibration, including our beloved plant medicines 🌿
