Today is Pink Shirt Day. A day that reminds us how powerful kindness, inclusion, and standing together can be.
At Nurture Paediatrics, we see every day how experiences of bullying can affect tamariki, not just emotionally, but in their confidence, movement, school participation, and sense of belonging. Pain is not always visible, and neither is the impact of feeling unsafe or left out.
Every child is a taonga. Every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported.
We also know that small actions can make a big difference.
Together, we can:
• Listen to our tamariki and believe their experiences• Support them with words that build confidence and connection• Encourage safe friendships and inclusive environments• Partner with schools, coaches, and communities to create spaces where all children can thrive
If your child is finding things tough, you are not alone. With the right support, children can rebuild confidence and feel safe in their bodies, their friendships, and their world.
Let’s keep choosing kindness, not just today, but every day.
