🌹 Participating in Life's Unfolding 🌊

For the past fortnight, I have been away enjoying precious time with family, exploring beautiful places and experiencing the wonder of life.

One unforgettable moment was watching three magnificent humpback whales rise from the ocean beside our boat.

Their enormous bodies moved with such gentleness, grace and power.

I was completely absorbed in their presence.

The following morning, during my Embodied Light Weaving, I felt the familiar presence of the whales' spirit moving through me, as I have experienced many times before. My body moved with their slow, rolling rhythm, rising and falling with gentleness, grace and power. But this time, something felt even fuller. Having witnessed these magnificent beings in the ocean, I carried such a vivid image of their enormous bodies moving through the water. It was as though this beautiful encounter had added another dimension to something I already knew so intimately. I felt completely at peace and immersed in love.

It reminded me of something simple.

We do not begin the song. We join the song that is already being sung.

Sometimes our participation is through creating and sharing.

Sometimes it is through laughter, movement, companionship, stillness or simply witnessing something beautiful.

We don't have to be constantly producing something to be participating meaningfully in life.

We already belong within its unfolding.

And perhaps today, life is inviting us to notice the song that is already all around us.

The listening has come home. 🌹

Sometimes we search outside ourselves for guidance, reassurance, or something that will tell us which way to go.

And sometimes, quietly, the distance between the one who is listening and the one we have been listening for begins to soften.

We may notice a knowing.
A sensation in the body.
A feeling asking to be felt.
A breath that suddenly deepens.
A quiet thought beneath all the noise.

We don't all experience our inner world in the same way, and perhaps we don't need to name what we find there.

We can simply become curious.

What happens when we stop reaching away from ourselves and begin listening lovingly to what is already here?

Perhaps coming home to ourselves isn't about becoming someone else.

Perhaps it happens each time we discover that nothing within us needs to be abandoned in order for us to become more fully ourselves.

The listening has come home.

There is an intelligence that belongs to no single person.

It forms in the spaces between us. ✨

Perhaps we don't always need someone to hold everything together or know what comes next.

Perhaps we can meet one another differently.

We can speak.
Listen.
Move.
Rest.
Laugh.
Cry.
Set boundaries.
Step away.
Return.

We can remain ourselves.

And when there is enough spaciousness for each presence to participate freely, something new may become visible between us.

A living container does not hold everyone in place.
It creates enough safety for everyone to move.

The braid is not created by making every thread the same.

It becomes visible through relationship.

What becomes possible when life is allowed to relate freely?

We sit.
We breathe.
We remember.

Sometimes love asks us to hold.

And sometimes love asks us to open our hands. 🌹

There are moments when listening means noticing that something has changed—that what we have been carrying no longer needs to be carried in quite the same way.

Releasing does not always mean abandoning.

Perhaps it can be allowing what we love to enter a wider flow.

And perhaps being held does not always arrive as arms wrapped around us.

It may be the earth beneath our feet.
The breath arriving by itself.
A tree offering shade.
A friend reaching toward us.
A river continuing on its way.
The quiet presence of life itself.

We do not always need to be the ones carrying love.

Sometimes we can allow Love to carry us.

Perhaps it has been beneath us all along. 🌹💧✨

Spring does not hurry the blossom.
Nor does it ask the blossom to hide. 🌱🌹

There is a time for resting beneath the soil, and a time for allowing what has been quietly growing to become visible.

Perhaps it is this way within us too.

We need not hurry what is still becoming.

And when something within us is ready to emerge, perhaps we need not make it smaller because we wonder how it will be received.

A flower does not diminish another flower by opening its petals.

It simply offers its own colour, fragrance and form to the garden.

The hidden root belongs.
The open blossom belongs.
Both are participating in the unfolding.

What within you is asking for more time beneath the soil?

And what, perhaps, is quietly ready to bloom?

Sometimes there is nothing to fix.

Nothing wise we need to say.

Sometimes another human being simply needs a little room to share what they are carrying.

A worry.

A tiredness.

A tenderness.

A life that feels very full.

Perhaps listening is enough.

Perhaps making room is itself a way that Love participates through us.

Not because we are trying to change another person's experience.

Simply because, for a moment, we are willing to meet them there.

And sometimes that ordinary meeting happens to be beside a supermarket checkout. ❤️

Nobody ever gets left out. 🌹🌀

There is a sense within many spiritual traditions and circles that we are living through the ending of an old cycle and the beginning of something new—a time when old ways of being are falling away and another way of relating to ourselves, one another and the Earth is beginning to emerge.

Perhaps part of this new paradigm is the remembering that:

Everybody and everything is already sacred.

We do not need to become the same as one another in order to belong.

Our different experiences do not need to become a hierarchy.
Another person's light does not diminish our own.
And our own light does not need to be dimmed so that another may shine.

Perhaps we can listen to one another with curiosity, honour what resonates within us, gently leave what does not, and allow each being to participate in life in their own unique way.

What has been does not have to determine what will be.

Perhaps the new world isn't only something we are waiting for.

Perhaps it is quietly taking root each time we remember:

Different expressions.
Different experiences.
Different ways of participating.
All sacred.
All belonging.

Nobody ever gets left out. 🌎🌹✨

Sometimes participation looks like speaking.

Sometimes it looks like listening.

Sometimes it looks like reaching towards another.

And sometimes it looks like becoming very still. 🌿

We do not have to participate in the same way in order to belong together.

The river flows.
The rose blooms.
The stone rests.
The bird sings.

Each offers its presence without needing to become something else.

Perhaps we can too.

We can listen to another without ceasing to listen to ourselves.

We can remain in relationship with what is around us while honouring what is quietly moving within us.

Sometimes our stillness is not an absence from life.

It is our participation.

Belonging was never meant to require you to leave yourself. 🌹

Perhaps today we might gently wonder:

What does participation feel like when I remain in relationship with myself too?

Smallness was never a reason
to decide something did not matter.

Yesterday, an unexpected little experience with thirty cents reminded me of something I thought I already knew.

Small things matter.

But as I sat with those words, they began widening.

I thought of the quiet person in a gathering.
The small gesture nobody witnesses.
The bird outside the window.
The insect moving through the grass.
The flower blooming unnoticed.
The heart beneath a message that simply says, I am here.

None needs to become larger before it belongs.

Perhaps today we might notice something we would ordinarily pass by—not because it needs to reveal some greater purpose, but simply because it is here, participating alongside us.

Sometimes love simply notices.

And perhaps in being noticed, something is allowed to belong.

Today I wrapped two more copies of The Guardians of the New Earth ready to begin their journey to Ireland. 🌍📚🌹

As I held each parcel, I found myself smiling.

Our beautiful Book of Light has now travelled from New Zealand into homes across Australia, America and Ireland.

What touches me most isn't how far it has travelled...

It is how it has travelled.

Friend to friend.
Heart to heart.
One quiet act of generosity at a time.

Many of these books have arrived because someone recognised something beautiful within its pages and chose to gift it to another.

That feels like love in motion.

Once each book leaves my hands, it begins its own journey. I never know where it will go, who will open it, or what conversations may unfold because of it.

There is something wonderfully humbling about that.

Thank you to every person who has become part of this gentle weaving.

Our little Book of Light continues taking flight. ✨
