✨ Meet our Clinic Team ✨

Our staff profile series continues, and this time we’re introducing two of the friendly faces helping keep our clinic running smoothly — Taila Rikirangi and Billie-Jo “BJ” Simmons.

Working at the front of our hauora means being one of the first points of connection for our whānau. From the moment someone walks through the doors, it’s about creating a space where people feel welcomed, heard, supported and cared for.

Taila and BJ each bring their own unique personality, life experiences and energy to the mahi. They both understand that the little things matter — a warm smile, a good kōrero, a laugh when it’s needed, and making sure our whānau feel comfortable navigating their hauora journey.

With their strong connections to whānau, whakapapa and te ao Māori, they bring a genuine sense of manaakitanga to the clinic. They’re approachable, caring, organised and not afraid to bring a bit of humour into the mahi — because sometimes a good laugh is exactly what’s needed! 😊

We’re proud to have these two wāhine as part of our Pirirākau Hauora whānau, bringing fresh energy, connection and plenty of heart to our clinic team.

Take a moment to get to know Taila and BJ, and the whakaaro and experiences that sit behind the mahi they do for our people.

He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
It is people, it is people, it is people.💙

✨ Meet our Rangatahi Team ✨

Our staff profile series is introducing two of our cool, energetic, funny, and all-round kickback rangatahi wāhine — Waitarehu Ormsby and Kyla Bidois. 💚

These two bring their own unique energy into our rangatahi mahi, but what they share is a genuine passion for connecting with our young people, creating spaces where rangatahi can be themselves, and reminding them of the strengths and potential they already carry.

With plenty of laughs, good energy, and a very real understanding of what it's like to be rangatahi today, Waitarehu and Kyla are out there walking alongside our young people, building confidence, connection, resilience, and opportunities.

It's giving rangatahi for rangatahi energy ✨

Take a moment to get to know the wāhine behind the mahi — we reckon you'll see why these two are such a cool part of our Pirirākau Hauora whānau. 💚

He waka eke noa — we are all in this together.

✨ Meet more of the faces behind Pirirākau Hauora ✨

Our staff profile series continues with two beautiful wāhine who bring a quiet strength, warmth, and genuine manaakitanga to our Tūāpapa team, working alongside our kaumātua. 💚

This week, we introduce Moana Rayner and Karen Ropiha Kakau - two familiar faces whose mahi is grounded in patience, respect, connection, and caring for our kaumātua in ways that honour their mana and wellbeing.

Both bring their own life experiences, knowledge, and gentle presence to the mahi. There is a softness in the way they support others, but also a strength that comes from knowing the value of showing up, listening, and simply being there.

Take a moment to get to know Moana and Karen, and the whakaaro that sits behind the mahi they do with our kaumātua.

🌿 Te Tumanako – Wānanga Three 🌿

A little reminder for our whānau 💚

Our Te Tumanako Support Group is back this Wednesday 26th August for Wānanga Three.

This wānanga is a space to come together, kōrero, learn, listen and connect with others who understand the journey. A place where whānau can feel supported, heard and reminded that they don’t have to navigate things alone. 🤍

📅 Wednesday 26th August
🕐 1:00pm
📍 35 Hartford Ave, Pāpāmoa – Building 3

The kaupapa for this wānanga is outlined on the flyer below, so have a kōrero with your whānau and come along if this is something that may support you or your whānau.

He waka eke noa – we are all in this together. 🌿

Nau mai, haere mai 💚

💛 DAFFODIL DAY | FRIDAY 28 AUGUST 🌼

On Friday 28 August, we’re joining Aotearoa in recognising Daffodil Day — a day to stand together in support of those affected by cancer and to remember the importance of hauora, whānau and community.

🌼 Wear yellow and show your support! 💛

Whether it’s a yellow shirt, a bright accessory, a splash of yellow or a daffodil — let’s fill our spaces with a little sunshine and kōrero about cancer awareness, prevention and support.

Cancer touches many of our whānau, so this is a simple way for us to stand together, awhi one another and show our support. 💛

Kia kōrero. Kia mōhio. Kia tautoko.
Let’s wear yellow and bring a little māramatanga into our day. 🌼💛

✨ Meet more of the faces behind Pirirākau Hauora ✨

Our staff profile series continues as we introduce two more amazing wāhine who are part of our Tūāpapa Team — Tina Marie Kingi, our Whānau Ora Kaiārahi, and Tiana Merriman, our AOD Rangatahi Practitioner. 💙

While their mahi supports whānau and rangatahi in different ways, both are passionate about walking alongside our people, building confidence, strengthening wellbeing, and supporting positive pathways forward.

From advocacy and whānau support to empowering our rangatahi to make healthy choices, Tina and Tiana bring aroha, encouragement, practical support, and genuine connection into their mahi every day.

Take a moment to get to know the wāhine behind the roles and the passion that drives the mahi they do for our whānau and community.

🌿 He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
