Why can my skin go red after brow tattooing? ✨

Redness after treatment is completely normal and expected for many clients.

Why does it happen?

✓ The skin has been worked during treatment
✓ Wiping and cleaning throughout the procedure can stimulate the skin
✓ Pressure and stretching of the skin during tattooing increases circulation
✓ Numbing products can sometimes create a temporary pink or flushed response
✓ Some skins are simply more reactive genetically than others

Think of it as your skin saying:
“Hey… something just happened here.” 😉

For most clients, redness settles within several hours to 24–48 hours depending on skin sensitivity, circulation, medications, skincare use, and overall skin health.

This is why we always focus on:
✓ Gentle technique
✓ Correct depth + pressure
✓ High quality pigments
✓ Professional aftercare
✓ Safety first

Temporary redness can be normal.

If redness or trauma is excessive or outside what we would expect, I will always discuss this with you during treatment and adjust the treatment plan to suit your individual skin response for the safest healing and best long-term results. 🤍

Annual check-in ✨

Healed brows need a check up.

Why?
Because skin changes. Pigment softens. Sun exposure, skincare, hormones, ageing, and lifestyle can all affect how your cosmetic tattoo heals and holds over time.

Your annual brow check-in allows us to:
✓ Assess colour retention
✓ Review a refresh of shape + definition if needed
✓ Keep brows looking soft, balanced and natural
✓ Prevent brows from fading unevenly or turning dull over time

The goal isn’t to make them darker or bigger every year… it’s to maintain beautiful, wearable brows that age well with you. ✨

If your brows are starting to look lighter, patchy, warm, ashy or lacking definition ~ it might be time for a check-in and possible refresh.

Book in now for a complimentary review and keep maintenance cost effective!

Before + After ✨ challenge accepted.

Not every brow pigment is designed for sun damaged, mature skin ✨ nether is the technique chosen for such a delicate skin.

When we are treating a compromised skin, pigment choice matters more than most people realise.

For this beautiful client, a softer-healing pigment was intentionally chosen to create a more natural healed result once healed, that works with the skin.

Immediately after treatment, brows will appear:
✓ darker
✓ warmer
✓ more defined

As healing progresses with MI pigments, we expect:
✨ up to 40-60% softening/lightening
✨ warmth in the pigment to settle
✨ the healed colour to soften into a cooler ash-brown finish
✨ a more powdery, skin-like result

Pigment choice is intentional.

Mature skin can easily become oversaturated or heal too harsh if the wrong pigment is selected. Softer PMU pigments allow for more elegant ageing, graceful fading and future flexibility over time. 🤍

It’s about how beautifully it heals ✨ and the true result presents 4-6 weeks after treatment.

Trust the process … your healed brows are worth the wait!

✨ BROWS ~ HEALING AFTER COSMETIC TATTOO

What you see on Day 1 is NOT your final result.

Immediately after cosmetic tattooing, the pigment appears darker, sharper, and more defined because the skin is fresh and healing has only just begun.

As your brows heal over the next 4-6 weeks:
✨ Colour softens
✨ Brows shrink slightly
✨ Texture settles
✨ Shading defines

EMOTIONS ARE NORMAL WHILE YOU ARE HEALING👇🏼

Day 1–3 → “OMG they’re dark!”
Day 4–7 → Dryness, flaking & patchy healing expected
Week 2 → “Have my brows disappeared?” Nope, they are just in transition phase.
Week 4 → Brows settle, soften & reveal their healed colour

This emotional rollercoaster is completely normal during the healing process 🤍 we never adjust or retreat within this time.

Trust the process. Healing is part of the journey.

✨ Every skin heals differently
✨ Follow all aftercare advice
✨ Perfection appointments are necessary to refine and balance the final result

Did you know brow transformations can take anywhere from 3 months to 1 year? ✨

Every brow journey is different.

This beauty began her journey in December with a laser removal to transition to a softer powder brow to better suit her lifestyle.

After 2 laser lightening treatments, we lifted enough old pigment to begin redesigning her new brows.

Today was treatment 1 ✨

Our focus:
✓ shape refinement
✓ brow tone adjustment
✓ blending old with new pigment

New brows can fade 40–60% during healing, which is why perfection visits and maintenance appointments matter.

Pigments have changed A LOT over the years 👏🏼

Honestly, one of the biggest shifts in cosmetic tattooing has been the improvement in pigment technology.

Many older pigments were heavier, stronger and often unpredictable as they aged in the skin.

Over time we were seeing:
→ grey brows
→ blue tones
→ purple hues
→ salmon fading

Not because anyone necessarily did anything “wrong” … it was often the pigment technology available at the time.

Newer pigment formulations, including many of the newer Biotek pigments, have come a long way and the industry continues to evolve.

We are now seeing:
✓ softer healed results
✓ more balanced tones
✓ improved fade over time
✓ better colour stability
✓ more natural-looking healed brows

Cosmetic tattooing still requires maintenance and every skin heals differently … but newer pigment technology is helping artists create more refined, predictable results long term.

The industry is always evolving ✨

Continued education, reviewing pigments, understanding colour theory and keeping up with technology all matter when it comes to creating beautiful healed results.

The shape was fine.
The colour needed attention.

Colour correction in progress…

Old brows don’t just fade…
they shift — especially with older cosmetic pigments.

→ Grey
→ Blue
→ Purple
→ Salmon

So while the shape may still be ok,
the colour can lose harmony with the skin over time.

This is where colour correction comes in 👇🏼

✓ We assess the existing pigment
✓ Identify the undertone (cool, ashy, uneven)
✓ Neutralise unwanted tones first
✓ Then rebuild with a balanced, natural colour

It’s not about going over the top,
it’s about correcting first, then refining.

Real talk:
Some brows need a staged approach to get the best result.

We check in between weeks 4–6 to review healing
and assess what’s needed at your perfection visit (if required).

Correction first. Perfection second. Always.

✨ Unsure what your brows need?
DM a clear selfie and we’ll guide you on the best next step to get your brows looking sharp again.

It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous when you hear the about needles around the eyes.

But the truth…

Every movement is slow, controlled, and intentional.
No rushing. No pressure. Just precision … and yes, we numb.

Most clients describe it as a warm scratch, with a soft vibration and a gentle hum in the background.

It’s not nearly as scary as you think.

✨ And the results? Worth every second.

Ready when you are.

Why book your 12-month Cosmetic Tattoo Check-In?

Firstly… it’s FREE.

But more importantly, it’s about protecting your results.

Cosmetic tattoos evolve over time. Fading, shifting in tone, and responding to your skin, lifestyle, and environment. A yearly review allows us to:

✓ Track how your tattoo has healed and aged
✓ Assess colour retention, shape, and definition
✓ Identify any areas of wear or breakdown
✓ Check in on your satisfaction and goals
✓ Provide professional recommendations for maintenance or future enhancements

Think of it as a WOF for your cosmetic tattoo, a simple, proactive way to keep your results looking fresh, balanced, and intentional.

Because great results aren’t just created…
they’re maintained with love and attention.
