Struggling with stiff, achy muscles between sessions? You're not alone in this 🤍

As the weather cools, muscles tend to hold more tension just to stay warm and that tightness can build up in the days between massages, especially through the back, shoulders, and neck.

The Surmanti Muscle & Stress Bath & Body Oil is one of my favourites to recommend as a simple, supportive addition to your at-home routine. Massage it into tired or tense areas, or add it to a warm bath, it works beautifully alongside a longer soak and a quiet evening.

A little support between visits, so you're not starting from scratch each time.

Available now at Divine Wellbeing; pop in or ask me next time you're in for a treatment

As the days get shorter and colder, it's easy for the body to feel like it's always slightly on alert, rushing from one thing to the next without a proper chance to settle. This is part of why winter tiredness can feel so heavy.

A gentle evening ritual can make a real difference. Not because it's perfect, but because it sends your body a consistent signal: it's safe to slow down now.

A few simple things that help: a warm Golden Milk sipped slowly, dimming the lights an hour before bed, a warm shower or bath, and a few minutes of slow, deep breathing.

None of it needs to be complicated. It's the consistency that matters, giving your body permission to soften before winter properly sets in. And if you need more than an evening ritual, that's exactly what a longer massage is for.

Nothing means more to me than hearing this kind of feedback 💜 Thank you so much, Jeni, it's such a privilege to help people feel properly looked after. If you've been dealing with something similar and wondering whether reflexology might help, I'd love to see you in clinic.

A few things I hear from clients every winter, without fail:

Tight shoulders that seem to come from nowhere. Sleep that isn't quite as restful as it should be. A general sense of being stretched thin or not quite yourself. Trouble properly switching off, even when you finally sit down.

None of these are too dramatic on their own but together, they're usually your body telling you it's bracing for winter before the cold has even properly arrived.

This is why I find myself recommending the 2 Hour Massage again and again this time of year. It gives your body the time it actually needs, to release deep, whole-body tension, calm a nervous system that's struggling to switch off, and leave you feeling properly looked after, not just topped up.

When you're feeling rundown, that kind of unhurried, thorough care can be one of the most nourishing things you do for yourself all season.

So many of the women I see in clinic say the same thing when they come in:
"I just don't feel like myself."

They're tired but can't sleep. Achy but haven't done anything strenuous. Anxious, but with no obvious reason why.

A lot of the time, what's happening beneath the surface is hormonal inflammation - the body's stress and immune response tipping out of balance when hormones shift.

Massage won't fix everything. But it creates a space where your body can finally exhale - where your nervous system gets to remember what calm feels like.

If this resonates, I'd love to support you. Bookings at www.divinewellbeing.co.nz

Ilana, thank you so much for these beautiful words — they genuinely mean the world to me. 💜
Caring for each of my clients is truly at the heart of everything I do at Divine Wellbeing. Every person who comes through my door brings their own story, their own needs, and their own version of what they're carrying - and it's such a privilege to be trusted with that.
Reviews like this one remind me exactly why I do what I do.

Hormonal inflammation is real, and it shows up in ways you might not expect. 🌿
Unexplained muscle aches. Poor sleep. Hot flushes. A nervous system that just won't switch off.
If your body has been feeling heavier, tighter, or more overwhelmed than usual, it's not "just stress" and it's not "just getting older."
It's your body asking for support.

This month on the blog, I'm talking about how massage therapy can genuinely help — calming inflammation, easing tension, and giving your nervous system the reset it's been craving.
