TODAY Is the last day to make a submission to Parliament on Green MP's Kahu Kahurangi Carter life-saving law change - which would legally protect anyone who calls for help for a drug emergency. That means no worrying about possession charges when you call an ambulance for yourself or someone else. It also means anyone on bail or parole would be protected from legal consequences, too. This is HUGE and we know it'll go a long way towards making people feel comfortable to get help.
Parliament needs to hear from anyone who supports this law change, especially if you've ever hesitated to get help for a situation involving drugs. You can use our quick submission builder tool - it doesn't store your info, and you can make a submission anonymously: https://submission-builder.drugfoundation.workers.dev/
You don't need to be a drug law expert to have your say. You just need to say if you support this law change and how it would affect you. Please DM Zoe the NZ Drug Foundation if you have any questions!
Your submission can be as simple as saying "I support this"
