The Rural Ramble goes indoors.
What a morning we had learning all things meta Ads from Jodine .co . I think everyone took away an action point or three.
Some amazing sharing of information and ideas of how to claw back our time as female business owners.
Thanks for an amazing morning tea and salad.
And a massive thankyou to everyone who came, shared, connected.

"It depends"

Hate that answer? So did I, once.

18 years of physiotherapy later and I say it more than ever — because the research is better, the questions are bigger, and people are far more complex than any blanket rule can cover.

Guidelines exist for a reason. Best practice matters. And then you meet the actual human in front of you.

Especially in women's health right now — we are in a genuinely exciting era. The science is catching up. Finally.

It depends. And that's exactly how it should be. It means I'm thinking of you as an individual. Blending the research, guidelines, clinical experience and importanly your reality and lived experience all into one.

🌿 Ladies Wellness & Movement Retreat — Sunday 21 June, River Valley Lodge

We’re thrilled to be hosting this special day for women who want to move well, feel strong, and leave with practical tools for life.

Joining us are four incredible presenters:

Jen Mackie (The Lifestyle Physio / Muster Epic Rural Adventures) brings 18 years of physiotherapy experience across Pilates, strength and conditioning, and specialist coaching in perimenopause and pre/postnatal health — with a genuine passion for making strength training accessible and enjoyable for every body.

Emma Steel, physiotherapist and owner of Hobsonville Physio & Riverhead Physio and Pilates in Auckland, is also the 2026 New Zealand Masters Women’s Marathon Champion. When Emma talks about running, it comes from both deep knowledge and hard-won experience. She’ll be joining us via Zoom.

Lucy Batley of Taihape Physiotherapy is our local pelvic health physio. Since 2020 Lucy has been helping women with everything from incontinence and pelvic pain to prolapse and beyond — an important topic that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough.

Melissa Megaw holds her 200hr yoga certificate and currently teaches locally. Her slow, mindful flows focus on mobility, movement, and deep relaxation — the perfect way to close the day.

And because no day at River Valley is complete without exceptional food — our very own Miranda will be sharing her top tips for dressings, alongside a home-grown lunch that’s become something of a legend among our guests. 🥗

📅 Sunday 21 June | 9:30am–4:00pm | $170pp | Only 15 spots

Injury and pain is much more complex that just the musculoskeletal system.
Looking at the whole picture is how we can really help you reach your goals.
A lot of the time that means referring you to other health professionals and working alongside you and them to get you there.
Linking the dots is part of the process.

We often blame age for things that are more closely linked to inactivity, deconditioning, and low expectations.

Ageing changes the body, but it doesn’t switch off its ability to adapt.

Getting older is inevitable.

Declining is not.

Yes we may reach beak bone density and muscle mass somewhere between 30 and 40 but your marvellous body keeps adapting to the stimulus you put on it, that doesn’t stop. Changes maybe but doesn’t stop.

You can be stronger at 80 than you were at 20.
Faster at 40 than your high school 100 m final.
Metabolically healthier after menopause than before.

Need a hand figuring out how to make sure you’re not arm chair glory day reminiscing?
