Day 5 of my pull-up challenge at 55 💪

Today felt different.

Not because I’ve suddenly mastered pull-ups, but because I could feel the strength building.

And for the first time, I managed TWO chin-ups.

I also used the pull-up machine today, which helped me practise the movement pattern and build strength through the full range.

Today’s workout:

✔️ Bike Warm Up
✔️ Chin-Ups
✔️ Dead Hangs
✔️ Scap Pulls
✔️ Machine Pull-Ups
✔️ Bent Over Rows
✔️ Incline DB Curls
✔️ Alternating Side Planks
✔️ Hip Rocks

Five days ago, this felt like a huge goal.

Today it feels possible.

If you’re working towards a goal of your own, keep going. The small wins count more than you think.

Hair loss - postpartum, perimenopause, stress, whatever the reason, you don’t need to suck it up.

I’d successfully used eyelash growth serum in the past so I don’t know why I waited so long to use something for my hair!!!

works! 3 months in and it feels like my hair is back to its fullness and strength from my 20s and that’s saying a lot. I still have grey hairs though 🤪

Don’t wait till you have to wear a hat to cover the bald spots - Kiri10 can help.

My family and close friends know this about me ….

Losing cognitive function would be in my Top 3 of health issues I would not wish on anyone. Alzheimers is a b***h. No thank you!

So if you think I’m over here trying to get muscles and jacked, that may happen, but I’m trying to hold on to my brain function and bone density as lifetime priorities.

That doesn’t seem too “sexy” until you know someone with Alzheimers or has broken a hip recently and hasn’t recovered back to full function.

What are you training for today?

I’ve been pushing back on the 50 ways to “optimise” my health and just focusing on the tried and true.

Menopause has taught me it’s actually the small things I do consistently that make the biggest difference.

These are the things I keep coming back to lately 👇

✨ Sleep
✨ Protein + fibre
✨ Strength training
✨ Walking
✨ Looking after my skin properly

And if you’ve been stumped by all the skincare out there, keep it simple with

Would love to know — what’s become non-negotiable for you in this stage of life?

Day 3 of my pull-up challenge at 55 💪

Today I added resistance bands into the mix — and they’ve already changed the way the movement feels.

One of the biggest barriers to pull-ups isn’t just strength.
It’s confidence.

Confidence to hang from the bar, trust your body and to keep trying when you’re not there yet.

The bands help me practise the movement with more control and better technique, while still building real strength through the full range.

And I think that’s an important reminder in midlife:

You don’t need to leap straight to the final version.
You build strength step by step. Rep by rep.

Today’s session:

✔️ 5 mins rowing
✔️ Assisted Band Pull-Ups
✔️ Pull-Up Attempts
✔️ Dead Hangs – 3 sets
✔️ Scapular Pull-Ups
✔️ Lat Pulldowns – 3 x 10
✔️ DB Rows – 3 x 10
✔️ Hollow Holds – 3 x 45 secs
✔️ Jack Knife Abs – 3 x 15

What’s something you’d still love to feel stronger or more confident doing?

I’m a huge EDM music fan. The beat and the energy is the driver to my workouts, playlists and the music festivals I still go to.

I’ve tried listening to other music styles when I’m working out, but it just doesn’t work the way EDM does.

What’s your favourite music to move to?

Your body is changing, but you don’t have to just put up with it.

I’m so excited to share this powerful conversation with Tracy Minnoch-Nuku from Sexy Ageing. After decades in the health & fitness space, Tracy hit her own perimenopause journey and went on a mission to find lifestyle shifts that actually make a difference not just for her body, but for her mood and energy too.

Day 2 of my pull-up challenge at 55 💪

Today was about finding my actual starting point.

There’s something confronting about measuring yourself against a bar and realising strength is incredibly specific. You can be active, experienced, capable… and still have weaknesses to work on.

That’s what I want this series to show.

Not “watch me crush this.”
More: watch what happens when a woman in her 50s decides to build strength with intention.

Today’s session:

✔️ 5 mins rowing
✔️ Bar Pull Ups – 3 x 10 reps
✔️ Attempt Pull Ups
✔️ Dead Hangs – 3 sets as long as possible
✔️ Scapular Pull-Ups – 4–6 reps
✔️ Lat Pulldowns – 3 x 10 reps
✔️ DB Rows – 3 x 10 reps
✔️ Hollow Holds – 3 x 45 secs
✔️ Jack Knife Abs – 3 x 15

I’d love this to become more than just my challenge.

What’s a physical goal you’ve been thinking about starting?
Comment below and follow along — maybe this is the year we surprise ourselves.
