During labour and birth your baby/pēpi isn't just arriving, they're working hard too.

Your baby/pēpi needs to rotate to fit through the pelvis, flex their head to make themselves smaller, descend in small surges rather than one long slide. Also, along the way, they're giving feedback and guidance to mum (stand up, move around or change position to create more space, sometimes even taking a wee pause in contractions so everyone can have a breather before more energy is needed).

Babies know what to do and are very good at being born!

Congratulations to Sarah Richards on graduating as a midwife! 🎓🌿

From student to graduate, this achievement reflects years of dedication, resilience, and the support of whānau, friends, kaiako, and mentors. As one chapter ends, another begins—walking alongside whānau and welcoming new life into the world.

Could this be the beginning of your journey too?

💜 Congratulations, Sez. Your future starts here.
