I got locs in 2008, we've been through a lot together, my dreads and me. My journey started in chemical dreads and I quickly discovered this was not the path for me. I use all natural methods, wax free and do not damage the structural integrity of the hair! My time as a professional trained loctician and dread head, I've learnt a lot about locs, the good t

he bad the ugly! i can repair, tidy up, make from scratch, install, extend, decorate, style and even remove. I can also advise! chemical free, but i have a number of methods and styles under my belt to use :)

i believe dreadlocks should be a special relaxing and enjoyable experience, i made one of my dearest and closest friends through dreading! Under her apprenticeship, i met a huge number of awesome people from all around the globe and every job is a treasured memory. I've dreaded in all sorts of places too, homes, cafes, offices, the beach, the park, bars... its great to take your work where ever you want to be! :)

there are many styles of dread, and its important you choose the style thats right for you. so lets have a chat about it :)

as everyone's hair, state of dreads and wants for dreads are different, each job needs to be assessed/quoted on inspection. however, i am happy to make trades (maybe you have a skill like jewelry making, massaging, carpentry...? or a pack of cigis, bottle of spirits, home-kill meat, nik-naks...?) and/or payment plans if needed.

Kia Ora Dread-fulls,

I'm sorry to announce I am having to take a break from dreading.

There are a number of circumstances outside of my control that are making it extremely hard to operate. It's not been an easy call to make.

I feel aweful letting all my incredible clients down but unfortunately I've had to make the tough decision to put a halt on work.

Right now, I am unable to access my messages so I'm sorry to all those who have been waiting for a reply.

I will return as soon as I'm able (hopefully within the next 3months) and post to let you all know and personally message my regulars to help them as soon as I am able.

When I return, it will be under new pricing and a fresh structure.

You will all be greatly missed.

Wow!
What a year it has been!

I want to give a massive shout out to all my amazing clients, I am always extremely humbled and greatful for each and every one of you who share good conversation with me in my space over your dread journeys.

This year has been pretty epic, we've all been through a lot and to be honest I feel more blessed this year than any other year as The Dread-Full Woman because each of you who have sat in my chair have expressed so much compassion for your fellow humans. In the face of some really difficult changes in society you have all remained compassionate and my conversations with each of you have often restored my faith in humanity. I feel truely honored and privileged to share time and space with you all.

It's been amazing for me this year to reconnect with some of you after many years hiatus, either because you took a step away from dreadlife or moved away, getting to see you back again and see your dreads development or start you on a new journey has been incredible! It really goes to show that dreadlocks are not just a hairstyle, they are a significant aspect to our identity.

After more than 10 years in this industry, I've met people from all different stages, ages and walks of life, but if there is one thing I can say is a common factor of people with dreads its this:
dread-heads are mostly open-minded conscientious humans who strive to be compassionate non-judgmental human beings. And I think this is something we should all be really proud to be. I know I'm proud to have connected with each of you.

So, after that gratitude gush, I am officially taking some time off because as much as I love what I do and spending my time with you in the chair, Its been a hectic year and i really need some down time!! 😄

Over the break I'll be writing up some new policies and pricings, I'm away till at least the 10th of Jan (and will be away again in mid feb), but do get in touch if you want to discuss something, I'll probably still check my messages even though I'm officially on break :)

It's December already!! Yikes!!
I'm just loving how tastey this summer couple is, salty sea and ink and dreads, what more could you want from summer? ;)

Hope you're all looking forward to getting some ocean into those locs, its damn good for them! Just remember to dry them out well after and its also the perfect time for some palm rolling ;)

Pretty sure these are synthetic extensions, but they look delishiously natural!

Yes, I also do synthetics, I can install ones you've found else where or custom make sets specifically for you lush look! I also have a few preset boosters made which I'll be sharing soon!

Last week, I had the pleasure to touch up these 3 year old locs and meet a rad new client.

It's always great to get to add my hand to dreads that have been professionally maintained, and although it had been more than 6 months since they last had some TLC, the sections were still doing great with only some minor resorting (which Is more to do with my perfectionism streak!).

We did a full root to tip touch up as he'd never had this done since starting his dread journey. I'm really interested to see how he feels over time with my techniques and if my tips and tricks become useful :)

Great conversations and so lovely to get to do some work in the sun! Certainly feels like summer is here :)

About 4 months ago I created and Installed these badass bab'n dreads for one hellah rad bossbitch beautiful human! And today, she was back for some loc'd lov'n goodness!

Gotta admit, just a bit of dread envy from the dread-full woman here, these dreadies are long and bold and beautiful and just beam a whole bucket load of lushness!!
