You can be strong, active, and do all the “right” things, and still struggle.
It’s Mental Health Awareness Week, and we want to say that plainly because, in health and fitness spaces, it doesn’t get said enough.
At Health Fit Collective, we talk about health beyond fitness. Mental health is at the centre of that. It’s part of being a whole person.
What we believe:
Movement helps (a lot), but it isn’t a cure. A walk, a session, or time outside can lift a heavy day. It doesn’t replace real support. And if training is the only thing holding you together right now, that’s worth noticing, gently.
Struggling isn’t a discipline problem. Low mood, anxiety, and burnout don’t mean you’re doing life wrong either.
A real check-in matters. Ask someone “how are you actually going?” and wait for the real answer, It can mean more than you’d think.
One of the best parts of this community is its people. Our whānau shows up for each other, in sessions and outside them. This week, let’s lean into that.
If things are hard right now, you don’t need the right words. You can call or text 1737 for free, any time, to talk with a trained counsellor.
If you’re doing okay this week, maybe be the one who checks in instead.
