The team at Meeden kindly gifted me some of their art supplies including their new soft oil pastels, watercolour pocket travel kit and one of their sketchbooks 🙌🏽🎨

A lot of you would have already noticed in my previous videos that I regularly use their oil pastels (which I brought myself) so it’s super exciting to collaborate!

In the midst of our family holiday earlier this year it started pouring down and I looked outside and notice how stunning the lake looked with the rain drops falling into the lake 🌧️

It’s moments like these, those small little ones that can stay with you and matter the most.

I know how hectic life can get but don’t forget to pause every once in a while and just be; that’s when you will really notice what’s around you 🍃

Masters Dissertation is officially completed and submitted ✨🙌🏽

It’s been a hard slog juggling work, moving and buying a house, Poppy going back and forth to the vet and family holidays in between. But I did it!

A true labour of love where I got to explore ancestral wisdom and mythology as healing resources for Wāhine and women who have experienced violence and trauma ❤️‍🩹 In this research I also demonstrated how art making can facilitate embodied connection and meaning making when working with these Atua Wāhine and Celtic goddesses ✨

Will share more about it all soon but for now I’m celebrating this achievement and enjoying having more spare time!

Crazy how fast Q1 of the year has gone and now we are well and truely into Q2!!! 💫 I haven’t been active on here for a long time as life has been asking me to be present so here’s the update:

Started the year off with some fun adventures including our annual whānau (family) holiday, a retreat at and a concert with the sis and sis in law.

Poor miss Poppy was battling an eye injury for 3 months with two surgeries and what felt like 100 vet visits. It hurt the wallet and was testing our patience but she is healed and happy now! 🥳 I also got a CT spinal injection to help heal a fractured tailbone that wasn’t healing properly - thankfully it has worked and I am back to horse riding (yay!).

Lots of time has been spent with family in between work (counselling sessions). I am now well in truely getting to crunch time for the completion of my masters thesis, only 75 days to go and so much to do!!!

While I finish up my thesis it is likely I won’t be very active and I also have some exciting life changes happening but wanted to pop on and say hi 👋🏽 Hope you are keeping well and looking after yourself, see you soon 💛

Home after a few days away at a Horse Mindfulness & Medicine course with 💫

I spend a lot of time observing, analysing and making sense of things whether that’s in my job, my academic study or even in my day to day life. Here we went back to the basics of mindfulness and connection, being able to be, witness and feel without needing to make sense of things (a much needed break for my busy brain!).

There’s so many things we can learn from being in nature and being with animals. They teach us it doesn’t always have to be complex or hard, we can just be and that’s enough 🤍

Also can’t forget about the awesome people who made it extra special and offered lots of laughs, shared experiences and love (see ya around beautiful people 🫶🏽).

Summer project over the Christmas break 🙌🏽 Learning to paint my friend’s horse 💫

Really have to stick with the process and get through the ugly parts before it’s starts looking somewhat decent.

Since we are about to enter the year of the horse I might have to try do more 👀🐴

We’ve made it to 2026! Happy new year! ✨🙌🏽

There is often a lot of pressure and hype around hitting the ground running at the start of a new year. But all good things take time to build momentum, so be patient and move steadily 🐴

This year is going to be a big one for me, the next 6 months I will be working steadily on my thesis for my June submission. I’m both excited and at times overwhelmed so I am focusing on one day at a time.

I am also very excited to continue to develop my art practice and share this with you all 💭

But for now I will continue to slowly land as I prepare for the year ahead.
