Flu vaccines are now free for tamariki aged 6 months, up until their 5th birthday.

If you would like to book, please call us on 04 387 9758 to schedule an appointment with a nurse.

Extra protection for our littlest: Free flu vaccines now available for under 5s

From today, all children aged 6 months up to their fifth birthday can get a free influenza (flu) vaccine.

This change comes as flu continues to cause high rates of illness and hospitalisations in young children this season, with children under five experiencing some of the highest rates of flu-related hospital care.

The flu season started later than usual and is expected to continue, so it's not too late to get vaccinated. The current flu vaccine is also a good match for the flu virus circulating most widely this year.

✅ Free for all children aged 6 months to under 5 years, pregnant women, and people aged 65+
✅ Helps protect against serious illness
✅ Helps protect your family and community.

The flu vaccine is also free for many people with certain medical conditions.

Book at bookmyvaccine.nz or contact your GP, pharmacy, Hauora Māori provider, Pacific health provider, or local immunisation clinic. Many providers also offer walk-in appointments.

Influenza (Flu) A is fast spreading throughout our community. There are a few things you can do at home to help stop the spread - such as covering coughs/sneezes and staying home if you are unwell.

If you, or the person you are booking for, has one or more of the below symptoms please let us know.
Your GP or Nurse Practitioner can still see you, but your arrival process will change.

😪 Sore throat
🤧 Runny nose
😷 Cough
🥵 Temperature
🤒 Rash
🤢 Upset stomach

Please do not book appointments for yourself or others through ManageMyHealth if you have any of these symptoms. Appointments can be made by calling us on 04 387 9758.

We appreciate your honesty so we can continue to keep our staff and vulnerable patients safe.

We will soon be using a new system, PayByLink, to send invoices for patients who order prescriptions.

Order your prescription via our website or prescription message line as you normally would, and when it has been processed you will receive a text with a PayByLink invoice. This will also indicate that your prescription has been sent to the pharmacy and will soon be ready for collection 💊

The bonus of PayByLink is you know that your prescription has been processed, and that you can make payment more easily. Click on the secure link you are sent to pay either using online banking or credit card payment. You are of course still welcome to use online banking as you normally would or come into the practice to make payment.

The PayByLink message will contain a secure-link to a personalised Eastern Bays branded webpage and the link will always start with https://paybylink.medeor.co.nz so you can be assured this is not a scam.

For more information, please visit our website https://www.ebhc.co.nz/home-alert/introduction-of-paybylink or email us at [email protected]

We hope you enjoy the new convenient way of paying your prescription bill and also knowing when your prescription has been processed in real time.

Today is World Hepatitis Day 🌍

Hepatitis is now the world’s deadliest communicable disease. 287 million people worldwide are living with hepatitis B or C. Yet because viral hepatitis often shows no symptoms, the majority of people won’t know they have it until it is too late.

But this can change. Hepatitis B has a vaccine, and hepatitis C has a cure.

Make sure you are up-to-date with your vaccination schedule, and that your whānau are too. If you want to check your vaccination status, or book in an appointment, please call us on 04 387 9758.
