☀️ SPRING SUN + YOUR MEDICINES
As the days become brighter, it’s important to know that some medicines can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.
Watch for:
Unexpected or unusually quick sunburn
Red, itchy or burning skin
A rash on sun-exposed areas
Blistering or swelling
Stay SunSmart by using a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen of at least SPF 30, applying it 20 minutes before going outside and reapplying every two hours—especially after swimming or sweating. Cover up, wear a hat and sunglasses, and seek shade when possible.
💊 Not sure whether your medicine increases sun sensitivity? Pop into Mercury Bay Pharmacy and ask our friendly team to check it for you.
Please don’t stop taking a medicine without professional advice. Seek medical advice if you develop a severe or blistering skin reaction.
