On May 31, 2026, at about 10:30 AM, personnel of the 1st SPMFC, under the supervision of PLTCOL DARWIN V. CASTILLO, Force Commander, conducted a lecture and information dissemination activity at Barangay Kawas, Alabel, Sarangani Province, in line with the observance of World No To***co Day. The activity was attended by residents and youth from the community and focused on educating participants about the harmful effects of cigarette smoking on health and well-being.
The lecture also highlighted the dangers and adverse effects of illegal drugs, emphasizing the importance of drug prevention, responsible decision-making, and community involvement in maintaining peace and order. Following the lecture, personnel distributed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials containing information on the harmful effects of cigarette smoking and the benefits of maintaining a smoke-free lifestyle.
This activity aimed to raise public awareness, particularly among the youth, on the value of adopting a healthy lifestyle, preventing substance abuse, and promoting a drug-free and smoke-free environment. Through continuous information dissemination and community engagement, the activity further supports the collective effort toward building a safer, healthier, and more resilient community.
