Two meaningful days of learning, counseling, and quality family planning services have officially wrapped up! 🎉

On August 27–28, 2026, the Albuera Rural Health Unit Staff headed by the Municipal Health Officer- Dr. Twinkle Ann de la Cruz celebrated the Family Planning Month Celebration in Albuera Super Health Center.

✨ Highlights of our 2-day celebration included:
💜 Free Progestin Subdermal Implant Insertion
💜 Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA)
💜 Family Planning counseling and health education
💜 Open discussions and sharing of accurate information
💜 Empowering women and couples to make informed choices for their families

More than the services provided, these two days reminded us that family planning starts with a conversation. When couples and families have the right information and access to quality services, they are empowered to plan their future and make decisions that are right for them. 🫶

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all the clients, mothers, couples, health workers, barangay partners, and everyone who contributed to the success of this celebration. 💐

📍 Rapid Convenience Monitoring (RCM) | MRSIA 2026

On the 3rd week of the Intensive Phase of MRSIA 2026 Phase III, the Albuera Rural Health Unit welcomed the Provincial Health Office (PHO) Team of Leyte, who conducted Rapid Convenience Monitoring (RCM) in selected barangays of the Municipality of Albuera.

The monitoring team visited three barangays — Brgy. Poblacion, Brgy. San Pedro, and Brgy. Tabgas — to assess the implementation of MRSIA, verify vaccination status among eligible children, and identify children who may have been missed during the vaccination activities.

The RCM also provided an opportunity to review the availability and utilization of monitoring tools and validate the reported vaccination accomplishments at the community level.

Following the field monitoring, a feedbacking session was conducted with the presence of NIP Coordinator- Myra Antigua, RN, HEPO Coordinator- Susitte Velarde, RN and Municipal Health Officer Dr. Twinkle Ann De la Cruz. The PHO Team shared their observations, findings, and recommendations to further strengthen the implementation of MRSIA Phase III in Albuera.

Today, the Albuera RHU Team continued the Mop-Up Vaccination Activity for the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) in:

Our team continues to reach out to eligible children who were not vaccinated during the previous schedules. Through these mop-up activities, we are making every effort to ensure that no eligible child is left behind. 💪❤️

To all parents and guardians whose children have not yet received their MR-SIA vaccine, please take this opportunity to have them vaccinated when our health workers visit your area.

Another busy and productive day for the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) in the Municipality of Albuera! 💉👏

Today, our vaccination team conducted the scheduled MR-SIA vaccination activities in Barangay Damulaan and Barangay Salvacion.

At the same time, our health workers also conducted the Monthly Immunization for children in Barangay Damulaan, Barangay Salvacion, and Barangay Poblacion, ensuring that our routine immunization services continue alongside the MR-SIA campaign. ❤️

Meanwhile, the team also continued the MOP-UP vaccination activity in Barangay Talisayan, reaching out to children who were not vaccinated during the previous schedule. 💉👶

One of the biggest challenges we are facing during this campaign is the impact of fake news and misleading viral videos circulating on social media.

We know that many parents in Albuera are very willing to have their children vaccinated. But because of misinformation seen online, some parents have become hesitant or afraid. As a result, our health workers now have to go house-to-house and personally reach families just to provide correct information and encourage them to protect their children.

Another productive day for the Albuera RHU Team as we conducted mop-up and catch-up vaccination activities in selected areas of Barangay Balugo, Barangay Tabgas, Barangay Mahayag, and Barangay Poblacion. 💉👏

Our goal is simple: to reach and protect every eligible child who has not yet received the Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccine. 👶❤️

📢 TO ALL PARENTS AND GUARDIANS:

Kung wala pa gyud ninyo napabakuna inyong anak during the previous schedules, this week is another opportunity!

We will be conducting MOP-UP ACTIVITIES this week to catch up with eligible children who were missed or were not available during the scheduled vaccination days.

👉 Please bring your eligible children to the vaccination team when we visit your area.

Ayaw na paghulat! Every child vaccinated is one more child protected. 💉❤️
