Sinadya ng ating mga Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) - kasama ang mga opisyales ng Barangay Matagbak II ang mga bahay-bahay na may chikiting na edad 6-59 months para sa 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗥-𝗦𝗜𝗔 (𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘀-𝗥𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆).

Hand Foot & Mouth disease (HFMD) spreading a lot among kids these days😟

Here's what you should know about HFMD:

WHAT IS HFMD?
It's a common viral infection found in young children. Usually not found in teens or adults..

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?
🦠 Fever
🦠 Cold
🦠Mouth ulcers
🦠Too much drooling (in infants)
🦠Rashes/blisters on hands, feet, buttocks, around the mouth
🦠Loss of appetite

The symptoms usually last for 5-7 days.

HOW DOES IT SPREAD?
🦠By skin touch with the infected baby like handshake or hug.
🦠Through air, if the infected baby sneezes or coughs
🦠By sharing food or drinks with the infected baby

HOW IS IT CURED? (Must Consult your Doctor )
There's no particular treatment for the infection. The infection goes away in 7-10 days. Doctors usually give anti-allergic, antibiotic and multi-vitamins.

HOME REMEDIES
Give your baby lots of fluids like coconut water, buttermilk, lassi, etc. Keep them hydrated all the time. Give whatever they like to eat. Because of ulcers they might not eat solids.

How TO PREVENT HFMD FROM SPREADING?
🦠 Maintain hygiene
🦠 Wash hands frequently
🦠 Try to not let the kids take their hands or any objects in their mouth
🦠 Disinfect surfaces, floors, toys regularly

IF YOUR CHILD IS INFECTED
🦠 Do Not send them to school or any public place till the rashes dry out
🦠Keep baby's utensils & things separate. No sharing among the siblings.
