🌧️ ULAN NA NAMAN? YOU CAN STILL TALK TO YOUR OB-GYN. 🩷

Rainy days can make it harder to leave the house—especially if you’re pregnant, not feeling well, or simply have a health concern that needs attention.

Good news: hindi kailangan laging lumabas para makapag-consult. 💻

Through online consultation, you can discuss your concerns with your OB-GYN from the comfort of your home.

You can consult about:
• Pregnancy and prenatal concerns 🤰🏻
• Irregular or painful periods
• Vaginal discharge or infections
• Family planning and contraception
• Menopausal concerns
• Other women’s health concerns

A few tips for a smoother online consultation:
☑️ Find a quiet and private place.
☑️ Prepare your medications and previous laboratory/ultrasound results.
☑️ Take note of your symptoms, when they started, and any changes.
☑️ Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
☑️ Be open about your concerns—kahit feeling mo “simple” lang.

Of course, not everything can be managed online. If you have severe pain, heavy bleeding, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, or another emergency, please go to the nearest ER.

🌧️ BUNTIS AT NALUBOG SA BAHA? LEPTOSPIROSIS AWARENESS FOR PREGNANT MOMS

With flooding becoming more common during the rainy season, maraming buntis ang nagtatanong: “Kailangan ko ba uminom ng gamot para makaiwas sa leptospirosis?”

The answer is: huwag basta uminom ng antibiotics on your own. Pregnancy needs special consideration when deciding whether prophylaxis is appropriate. Philippine guidance does not recommend doxycycline for pre-exposure prophylaxis in pregnant or breastfeeding women, while post-exposure management should be assessed by a healthcare professional based on the type and extent of exposure.

A few reminders, especially for pregnant moms:
🩷 Avoid floodwater whenever possible. Leptospira can be present in water or soil contaminated with urine from infected animals, especially rodents.
🩷 If you had unavoidable exposure, contact your doctor as soon as possible instead of self-medicating.
🩷 Watch out for fever, headache, muscle aches, chills, vomiting, red eyes, or unusual weakness after exposure. Early treatment is important when leptospirosis is suspected.
🩷 If you have cuts or wounds, keep them covered and avoid further contact with potentially contaminated water.

Pregnant ka na nga, kailangan mo pang isipin ang baha—so please take extra care. ❤️

If you were exposed to floodwater and you’re unsure what to do, let’s talk before taking any medication.

👨🏻‍⚕️ MALE OB-GYN? YES, OKAY LANG. 🩷

“Doc, okay lang ba lalaki ang OB-GYN ko?”

Yes. Absolutely.

Choosing an OB-GYN is a personal decision. What matters most is that you feel comfortable, respected, heard, and safe during your consultation.

As a male OB-GYN, I understand that some patients may initially feel shy or hesitant. Normal lang ‘yan. Your comfort always comes first.

A few things to remember during your visit:
🩷 You can ask questions. Walang “nakakahiya” na concern when it comes to your health.
🩷 You can tell your doctor if you’re uncomfortable. Communication is important.
🩷 You can request a chaperone during an intimate examination.
🩷 You have the right to privacy and confidentiality.
🩷 You can choose the OB-GYN you feel most comfortable with—male or female.

Whether it’s a routine check-up, pregnancy, Pap smear, contraception, menstrual concerns, or any other women’s health issue, you deserve to be treated with respect and without judgment.

And if you’re wondering if you can talk to a male OB-GYN about something personal…

Yes, you can. I’m here to listen. 🩷

🩷 PAP SMEAR, HPV & CERVICAL CANCER: MAS OKAY ANG PREVENTION

Cervical cancer is one of the cancers that we can help prevent and detect early. Kaya kung matagal ka nang hindi nakakapagpa-check, this is your reminder to schedule your cervical health screening.

Pap smear checks for abnormal changes in the cells of the cervix. Depending on your age, previous results, and risk factors, your doctor may also recommend HPV testing.

And yes—HPV vaccination is available in my clinic. 💉

A few reminders:
• Ask your OB-GYN when you should have your cervical screening.
• HPV vaccination is not just for children—it can also be appropriate for some adults.
• Even if you’ve received the HPV vaccine, you may still need regular cervical screening.
• Don’t wait for symptoms. Early cervical changes often cause no symptoms at all.
• If you experience unusual bleeding, especially bleeding after in*******se, have it checked.

Pap smear + HPV vaccination + regular check-ups = a simple step toward protecting your future health. ❤️

🩺 Pap Smear & HPV Vaccination available at my clinic.

🩷 REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CHECK-UP: HUWAG HINTAYIN NA MAY MARAMDAMAN.

Minsan, busy tayo sa work, family, at araw-araw na buhay kaya nakakalimutan na nating magpa-check up. Pero when it comes to your reproductive and women’s health, prevention is always better than waiting for a problem to happen.

A routine OB-GYN or executive/well check-up can help monitor your overall health and identify concerns early.

Some things worth discussing with your OB-GYN:
• Irregular or painful periods
• Heavy menstrual bleeding
• Birth control and family planning
• Pregnancy planning
• Vaginal discharge or recurrent infections
• Breast or pelvic concerns
• Menopause and perimenopause
• Pap smear and other recommended screenings

Kahit wala kang nararamdaman, okay lang magpa-check. Hindi kailangan may sakit bago alagaan ang sarili. ❤️

A few simple tips:

🩷 Know your menstrual cycle and any changes in your usual pattern.
🩷 Keep up with age-appropriate screenings and vaccinations.
🩷 Maintain a healthy diet, regular exercise, and enough sleep.
🩷 Avoid self-medicating, especially with hormones or antibiotics.
🩷 If something feels unusual or concerning, have it checked.

💗 FAMILY PLANNING IS ABOUT CHOOSING WHAT’S RIGHT FOR YOU.

Whether you’re planning to have a baby soon, want to space your pregnancies, or are not ready for pregnancy yet, family planning gives you options.

There’s no single contraceptive method that works best for everyone. Your choice may depend on your health, lifestyle, plans for pregnancy, and personal preference.

Some options include:
💊 Birth control pills
💉 Injectable contraceptives
🩹 Implants
🩷 IUDs
🛡️ Condoms
📅 Fertility awareness methods
✂️ Permanent contraception

A few reminders:
• Know how each method works, including its benefits and possible side effects.
• Don’t choose a method based only on what works for someone else.
• If you have a medical condition or take regular medications, discuss this with your OB-GYN.
• Condoms are still important for protection against s*xually transmitted infections.
• If you’re planning to stop contraception and get pregnant, talk to your doctor about preparing for pregnancy.

Family planning isn’t about telling you what to choose. It’s about giving you the information to make the choice that’s right for you. ❤️

🩸 Heavy or unusual bleeding? Don’t ignore it.

A change in your period can happen for many reasons. But if your bleeding is heavier than usual, lasts longer, happens between periods, or occurs after s*x, it’s worth getting checked.

And if you’ve already gone through menopause, even a small amount of spotting or bleeding is not considered normal and should be evaluated.

A few things you can do:
• Keep track of your bleeding and menstrual pattern.
• Take note of any pain, dizziness, or unusual discharge.
• Avoid taking hormones or other medications on your own.
• See your OB-GYN if the bleeding keeps coming back or is getting heavier.

You don’t have to wait until it becomes a problem. Let’s find out what’s causing it. 🩷
