Bananasana (Yin Crescent Pose) is one of my favorite gentle side-body stretches for students with scoliosis.

By creating length through the entire lateral fascial line—from the outer ankle to the fingertips—Bananasana can help release tension that often accumulates asymmetrically around the spine, ribs, waist, and shoulders. The long passive hold also encourages diaphragmatic breathing, helping create a sense of spaciousness throughout the torso.

As with any scoliosis practice, it’s important to work with your unique curve pattern and explore both sides mindfully, noticing where your body may benefit from more length and awareness.
