The PSMO MOFITEX (Medical Oncology Fellow-In-Training Exam) — a concept we envisioned late last year — is now slowly taking shape. What once began as an idea is becoming a meaningful step toward strengthening medical oncology training and ensuring excellence in patient care.

In-service examinations are more than just assessments. They serve as important milestones that help fellows recognize their strengths, identify areas for growth, and maximize every learning opportunity throughout training. At the same time, they allow training institutions to evaluate the effectiveness of their programs, refine their teaching strategies, and continuously uphold the highest standards of education and mentorship.

Ultimately, MOFITEX represents our shared commitment to developing competent, compassionate, and future-ready medical oncologists for the patients and communities we serve.

Truly thankful to have the best team behind this initiative — passionate, dedicated, and united by the goal of advancing oncology education. The journey is just beginning, and the future ahead is inspiring. 🙏🩵🇵🇭

There are days when cancer carers give so much of themselves that they forget they, too, are human. Between clinic hours, difficult conversations, endless follow-ups, and carrying the emotional weight of every patient’s battle, it becomes easy to believe that rest is a luxury rather than a necessity. But even the strongest hearts need stillness.

For me, sunsets have become quiet reminders to pause. In those few fleeting moments when the sky softens and the world slows down, there is space to breathe, reflect, and simply exist beyond the role of caregiver. A sunset does not rush, yet it always arrives beautifully — perhaps teaching us that healing, strength, and renewal also require patience and rest.

Balancing the care of patients while caring for oneself is never simple. Cancer carers often live between two worlds: wanting to give everything to patients who need them, while silently neglecting their own exhaustion, families, and inner peace. The challenge is real, because compassion can sometimes make us forget our own limits.

Yet rest is not selfish. Reflection is not weakness. They are what allow carers to continue showing up with empathy, clarity, and hope. Just as the sun sets each evening only to rise again the next day, taking time to rest allows us to return renewed — ready to continue the work of healing with both strength and heart. 🙏..
For our family, PB has, is, and will always be the best place in Negros Island to experience sunsets. 🥰

To all Mums bravely fighting cancer this Mother’s Day,

Today, we celebrate not only the love you give, but also the incredible strength you carry every single day. We know your journey has not been easy. Behind every treatment, every hospital visit, every moment of fear and uncertainty, there is a mother still choosing to love, to hope, and to keep going for the people she holds dear.

Some days may feel heavy. Some battles may leave you tired in ways words cannot fully describe. But please know this: your courage inspires everyone around you. Your resilience shines brighter than any hardship, and your presence continues to be a source of comfort, warmth, and love for your family.

This Mother’s Day, may you be reminded that you are more than your diagnosis. You are strong. You are deeply loved. You are a fighter, a nurturer, and a light to so many people.

May brighter days continue to come your way, and may hope always find a place in your heart. One step, one prayer, one victory at a time — keep believing that healing, joy, and beautiful moments still lie ahead.

Happy Mother’s Day. 🌷
