Pinaaalalahanan ng Department of Health ang publiko na ugaliing panatilihin ang tamang kalinisan upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng impeksyon.

Palaging maghugas ng kamay, iwasang hawakan ang mga mata, at huwag maghiraman ng mga personal na gamit tulad ng tuwalya at panyo.

Kung nakararanas ng pamumula, pangangati, pananakit, o paglabas ng nana sa mata, magpakonsulta agad sa pinakamalapit na health facility.
