𝙋𝘾𝙊𝙎 𝙏𝙊 𝙋𝙈𝙊𝙎: 𝙒𝙃𝙔 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙉𝙀𝙀𝘿 𝙏𝙊 𝙍𝙀𝙉𝘼𝙈𝙀?

PCOS affects 170million women worldwide
And when we say PCOS, we have this wrong notion na the Ovaries are the primary concern.
It is actually affects MULTIPLE
ORGAN SYSTEMS. And terming it as Polycystic OVARIAN syndrome somehow delays the diagnosis of the other conditions that are present with the syndrome (endocrine, metabolic, dermatologic) and even increased CANCER risk

Aside from those mentioned below,
a woman can also have PSYCHOLOGIC symptoms. Many of these women are depressed, anxious, and have decreased quality of life.

So, by shifting the name to POLYENDOCRINE METABOLIC OVARIAN SYNDROME, we recognize that this is more than just irregular me**es. We need to treat the whole of the woman. And this requires a team of doctors: GYNECOLOGISTS, INTERNISTS, PSYCHIATRISTS, DERMATOLOGISTS.

Early recognition is Key.

For now, we can interchangeably use PCOS and PMOS until 2028.
