Patrick, if the reason you chose to speak up was to protect Michelle from bashing, gets namin yun. Pero sana naisip mo rin kung sino ang masasaktan when you decided to reopen an issue that was already being kept quiet.
You wanted to protect one child from bashing, pero in the process, did you ever think about how your words could affect your other child? The child you also have a responsibility to protect?
Hindi naman kailangan maging collateral damage ang isang anak para maprotektahan ang isa.
If you really wanted to protect your daughter, there were ways to do it without dragging Jen back into an issue that could have been handled privately. You could have reached out to the people involved. You could have chosen silence. You could have protected your child without reopening old wounds.
And to every father out there who has moved on and built a new family: please don't forget the children you had before your new life began.
Your new child deserves protection, yes. But so does the child you left behind.
Anak mo silang lahat. And they shouldn't have to pay the price for decisions made by adults.
