Junior High Center for Counseling and Wellness Equips learners for AY 2026-2027
June 25, 2026 marked a meaningful start to the academic year as the Junior High Center for Counseling and Wellness conducted two simultaneous orientation talks designed to help learners confidently navigate their new academic journey.
Held at the John Van Bauwel Function Hall, Mrs. Marion Nicole Rodillas-Bernardino, with the assistance of Mr. Lemuel Tindungan, facilitated an engaging session for Grade 7 learners entitled "LEVEL UP: Surviving and Thriving in Grade 7 โ Your Guide to the High School Adventure." The talk aimed to help incoming junior high school learners adjust to the demands and opportunities of junior high life. The session introduced learners to The Grade 7 Experience, highlighting the key differences between elementary and junior high school and preparing them for the changes they will encounter. Participants also took part in a Gen Alpha Check-In, where they explored the unique strengths of their generation, recognized common challenges, and learned practical strategies to overcome these weaknesses.
To encourage habits that lead to long-term success, Mrs. Rodillas-Bernardino shared The Secret to Success through three simple yet powerful habits:
Show Up โ Be present and make the most of every opportunity to learn.
Ask Questions โ Embrace curiosity and seek understanding whenever something is unclear.
Be Consistent โ Build success through small, positive actions practiced every day.
The session concluded with an inspiring reminder that resonated with the learners:
"Grade 7 is not about being the smartest student in the room. It's about becoming a better version of yourself every day. Some days you'll win. Some days you'll learn. But every day is a chance to grow."
Meanwhile, at the Gerard Decaestecker Mini Theater, Ms. Knuzca Riza Amistad conducted an orientation for Grade 8 to Grade 10 transferee learners entitled "Starting Strong: Effective Study Habits for a Successful School Year." The orientation focused on helping new learners smoothly adjust to their new school environment while introducing effective study habits and learning strategies that promote academic success. Ms. Amistad emphasized the importance of organization, time management, active learning, and maintaining a positive mindset as learners transition into their new academic community.
She concluded the session with an encouraging message:
"Study smarter, not harder! By actively developing good study skills and learning strategies, you will keep your motivation high and achieve your goals more easily and more efficiently."
Through these meaningful orientation programs, the High School Center for Counseling and Wellness reaffirmed its commitment to supporting learners' academic, personal, and socio-emotional development. By equipping learners with essential life skills, positive habits, and practical strategies, the Center continues to empower learners to confidently embrace the challenges and opportunities of the new school year.
