The local government, through the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), will spearhead a five-day Summer Camp for children with disabilities on April 23โ€“27, 2026, at the Baguio Special Education Center along Military Cutoff Road.

PDAO head Dr. Samuel G. Aquino said that around 50 children with disabilities and more than 50 volunteers are expected to join the camp, which aims to empower participants to interact with one another as part of the local governmentโ€™s initiative to promote inclusivity across all sectors.

Last year, the PDAO also spearheaded the first-ever Pedia Camp, which drew more than 200 children with disabilities and volunteers for a 10-day event.

He called on interested participants in the localized Summer Camp to register with the PDAO, located at the ground floor of City Hall, to ensure their inclusion in the event.

Participants are advised to bring their clothing and other necessities, while food will be provided throughout the duration of the activity.

Meanwhile, interested volunteers must also pre-register with the PDAO to be included among those who will assist children with disabilities in the various camp activities.

The Summer Camp is an annual event spearheaded by the PDAO as part of efforts to ensure inclusivity for persons with disabilities in the cityโ€™s barangays.

Aquino expressed hope for increased participation this year, citing growing awareness among residents of the various programs, projects, and interventions implemented by government agencies and the local government to promote inclusivity for vulnerable and marginalized sectors.

The PDAO also remains steadfast in encouraging persons with disabilities to register with the office to establish a reliable database, which will help guide policymakers and decision-makers in formulating interventions for their welfare. - Dexter A. See

Comment โ€œSITโ€ to find out which retained reflexes contribute to a child who is prone to sit in the W-position.

Some kids who often sit in the W-position may have retained Primitive Reflexes that can cause problems with core strength, joints, and muscle development.

If you have a child or student that frequently sits in the w-position, you may find them doing the following:

๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธTends to hunch over in their chair
๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธRocks in the chair
๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธLacks attention and focus
๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธCanโ€™t stay seated for long periods of time

Kids with one or more retained reflexes may compensate for the retention by sitting in the w-position or finding ways to support their body when uncomfortable.

To find out which reflexes are creating issues with w-sitting and lack of core strength, comment โ€œSITโ€ and weโ€™ll send you the link.
