As the country observes National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month this May, officially recognized under Presidential Proclamation No. 368, stakeholders continue to intensify efforts to promote early detection and prevention of cervical cancer through accessible, community-based services.

Spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of Bangui under the leadership of Mayor Denton Lawrence G. Garvida, in partnership with the Department of Health, Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center – Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Ilocos Norte Medical Society, successfully conducted a Cervical and Breast Cancer Screening Activity in the community.

Through Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) and Clinical Breast Examination (CBE), women in Bangui were provided with accessible and essential screening services empowering them through early detection and timely care.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all partners and healthcare workers who made this initiative possible. Together, we continue to strengthen preventive care and advance the goals of Universal Health Care ensuring that no woman is left behind.
