Can I stop taking my blood pressure medicine if my blood pressure is already normal?

The short answer is no. Not without your doctor’s advice.

Blood pressure maintenance medications work because they are taken consistently. Stopping them on your own may cause your blood pressure to rise again, increasing your risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, and other complications.

As of the latest advisory from DOST-PAGASA, no Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal is currently in effect over Batangas.

However, residents are still encouraged to remain alert. The enhanced Southwest Monsoon and the effects of Super Typhoon Inday (BAVI) may continue to bring periods of heavy rainfall, strong winds, and possible flooding in some areas.

Now is a good time to prepare:
- Refill your maintenance medications.
