The Batangas Medical Center – Toxicology Specialty Center successfully concluded its week-long celebration of National Poison Prevention Week 2026 with the theme:
"Clicks, Trends and Consequences: Preventing Poisoning in the Digital Age."
As part of our commitment to promoting poison awareness and prevention, the following activities were conducted throughout the week:
🔹 Day 1: Officially launched the celebration during the Flag Ceremony with the introduction of the Poison Prevention Week video advisories on the BatMC E-Bulletin and page. The Primo's Coffee Booth was also opened at the 2nd Floor, Outpatient Department (OPD) in support of the week-long celebration.
🔹 Day 2: Continued the dissemination of educational video advisories through the BatMC E-Bulletin and page, featuring topics on online shopping poisoning risks, energy drinks and supplements, microplastics, va**ng and common household poisons.
🔹 Day 3: In collaboration with the Public Health Unit (PHU), conducted the lay forum "Tsek Muna Bago Check-out" at the Outpatient Department (OPD) to educate patients and their companions on poisoning risks associated with online shopping and encourage safer consumer practices.
🔹 Day 4: Conducted a community lecture on the Management of Acute Poisoning at Gusaling Museo, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, attended by more than 100 Barangay Health Workers, strengthening their knowledge and skills in poison prevention and emergency response.
🔹 Day 5: Provided toxicology technical assistance through a short meeting with Shell Philippines, addressing inquiries on snakebite management and other toxicology-related concerns.
