📊 Measles-Rubella Vaccination Coverage Update
As of August 28, 2026‼️🚨

A total of 3,049 children 6–59 month-old in Baybay City have been vaccinated since Day 1 of the MRSIA Phase III implementation, achieving 50.20% vaccination coverage based on actual population and 31% vaccination coverage based on projected population. 💉❤️

📍 All 92 Barangays of Baybay City have already been covered by the activity yet still our community haven't reach the 95% target vaccination coverage.

🏃‍♀️ Meanwhile, ongoing mop-up vaccination is being conducted in all barangays to reach and protect children who may have been missed during the initial rounds.

🎯 The target is to reach a 95% vaccination coverage in order for our community to acquire "HERD IMMUNITY".

🛡️ Herd Immunity — Very Simple Explanation

Herd immunity means that when enough people in a community are protected against a disease, the disease has a harder time spreading.

Think of it like a shield around the community:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Many people are vaccinated → 🦠 Virus has fewer people to infect → 🚫 Spread slows down → 👶🤰👵 Even people who cannot be vaccinated get some protection.

A simple example:

Imagine 10 people in a room.

* If only 2 are vaccinated, the virus can easily jump from person to person.
* If 9 out of 10 are vaccinated, the virus has very few people left to infect, so its spread is much more difficult.

That’s herd immunity.

💉 Vaccination protects the individual.
🛡️ High vaccination coverage helps protect the whole community.

For diseases like measles, this is especially important because measles is extremely contagious and requires a very high level of population immunity to prevent outbreaks.

In one sentence:

Herd immunity is when enough people are immune that they help stop a disease from spreading through the community.

Usa ka makahuluganon nga adlaw sa pagkat-on, pagpaambit sa kahibalo, ug paghatag og gahum sa mga inahan ang gihimo sa Baybay City Immaculate Conception Hospital, diin mitambong ang mga mabdos ug mga inahan nga bag-o lang nanganak.

• Dr. Cecilie Milan-Abueva, OB-GYN, mipaambit og bililhon nga kahibalo bahin sa husto nga pagpasuso ug kahimsog sa inahan.

• Si Kristine Shayne A. Castos, RN, naghisgot sa praktikal nga mga pamaagi sa pagpasuso alang sa mga inahan nga nagtrabaho, ug nagpasiugda nga ang pagbalik sa trabaho dili babag sa pagpadayon sa pagpasuso.

• Si Wayne P. Gunhuran, RN, mipaambit og importanteng impormasyon bahin sa family planning aron matabangan ang mga babaye sa paghimo og husto ug nahibal-an nga desisyon alang sa ilang kahimsog ug pamilya.

Daghang salamat sa Immaculate Conception Hospital (ICH) sa mainiton nga pagdawat ug paghatag sa venue alang niining makahuluganon nga kalihokan.

Daghang salamat usab sa City Nutrition Office ug Health Promotion Unit sa ilang suporta ug paningkamot aron mahimong malampuson kining kalihokan.

Maghiusa kita sa pagsuporta sa mga inahan nga nagpasuso, pagpalambo sa kahibalo bahin sa family planning, ug pag-amuma sa mas himsog nga mga pamilya sa atong komunidad.

📊 Measles-Rubella Vaccination Coverage Update
As of August 20, 2026‼️🚨

A total of 2,677 children 6–59 month-old in Baybay City have been vaccinated since Day 1 of the MRSIA Phase III implementation, achieving 44.07% vaccination coverage based on actual population and 27.22% vaccination coverage based on projected population. 💉❤️

📍 Barangays with 0 accomplishments are still scheduled for vaccination activities.

🏃‍♀️ Meanwhile, ongoing mop-up vaccination is being conducted in covered barangays to reach and protect children who may have been missed during the initial rounds.

✅ Safe. Effective. Proven.

The Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccine has been used safely and effectively for more than 40 years, protecting millions of children around the world from measles and rubella and their serious complications.

🇵🇭 Here in the Philippines, Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MRSIA) is NOT new. Similar vaccination campaigns have been conducted in the country for many years as part of our continuing efforts to protect children and prevent outbreaks.
