👶💡 Did you know? Your child’s “pagdighay” or pagsusuka might be more than just normal reflux.
Gastroesophageal Reflux (GER) is common in infants and children—but when it becomes frequent and causes discomfort, it may already be GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease).
🔍 Watch out for these signs:
• Frequent vomiting or regurgitation
• Irritability during or after feeding
• Poor weight gain
• Chronic cough or wheezing
🩺 Why it happens:
The lower esophageal sphincter (LES) is still immature, allowing stomach contents to flow back into the esophagus.
❤️ What parents can do:
• Feed smaller, more frequent meals
• Keep baby upright after feeding
• Avoid overfeeding
• Seek medical advice if symptoms persist
📚 Early awareness leads to better care. Let’s protect our little ones from complications!
