MEASLES–RUBELLA SUPPLEMENTAL IMMUNIZATION ACTIVITY | WEEK 3

NAPABAKUNAHAN MO NA BA ANG ANAK MO?

Patuloy ang Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) sa Bombon!

Sinisigurado ng Bombon Municipal Health Office na bawat batang kwalipikado ay mabigyan ng karagdagang proteksyon laban sa tigdas at rubella sa pamamagitan ng supplemental vaccination.

Huwag hayaang mapag-iwanan ang inyong anak.
Kung hindi pa siya nababakunahan, samantalahin ang pagkakataon at dalhin siya sa aming vaccination site.

Isang bakuna. Dagdag na proteksyon. Mas ligtas na kinabukasan.

Magpabakuna. Magtanong. Magtiwala sa health workers.

Bawat bata, protektado.
Bawat pamilya, ligtas.
Bombon, sama-samang lumalaban sa tigdas at rubella!

MR-SIA 2nd Week Update

55.06% na ng mga batang dapat mabakunahan sa Bombon ang nabigyan ng karagdagang proteksyon laban sa Measles at Rubella! 💉❤️

Malaking hakbang na ito, pero may kalahati pa ng ating mga target na bata na hindi pa nababakunahan. Hinihikayat namin ang lahat ng mga magulang at guardians na samantalahin ang pagkakataong ito upang masigurong protektado ang ating mga anak.

Para kanino ang MR-SIA?
Mga batang 6 na buwan hanggang 4 na taon at 11 buwan.

Ang MR-SIA ay hanggang Agosto 28, 2026.

Huwag nating hintayin na may magkasakit bago kumilos. Ang bakuna ay karagdagang proteksyon para sa ating mga anak.

Bakunahan natin. Protektahan natin.
Para sa ligtas at malusog na mga bata ng Bombon!

⁉️ ANU NGA BA ANG KAIBAHAN NG ROUTINE IMMUNIZATION SA SUPPLEMENTAL IMMUNIZATION ACTIVITY (SIA)?⁉️

💡 Ang routine immunization ay ang regular na ibinibigay sa mga bata, samantalang ang SIA naman ay KARAGDAGANG BAKUNA na isinasagawa kada tatlong taon lalo na sa panahon na may banta ng outbreak o pagdami at pagkalat ng sakit na tigdas at tigdas hangin.

🛡️ Parehong kailangan ito ng mga chikiting at mas mainam na mapabakunahan dahil gaano man kalusog ang bata, maaari pa rin siyang tamaan ng mga sakit na ito na puwedeng humantong sa malalang komplikasyon.

💉 Ang mga bakunang ginagamit sa routine at supplemental immunization ay matagal nang ginagamit sa Pilipinas at ilang dekada nang napatunayang ligtas at epektibo laban sa tigdas at tigdas hangin.

HOW CAN WE PREVENT MEASLES AND RUBELLA?

1. Get vaccinated

Vaccination is the best protection against measles and rubella. Measles-containing vaccines are commonly given as MR (Measles-Rubella) or in combination vaccines such as MMR.

2. Make sure children receive the recommended doses

Keeping children up to date with routine immunization—and participating in supplemental immunization activities when offered—helps protect both the child and the community.

3. Avoid spreading infection

* Avoid close contact with a person who has suspected measles or rubella.
* Cover coughs and sneezes.
* Practice hand hygiene.
* Seek medical advice if a child develops fever with rash, particularly if there has been exposure to a suspected case.

4. Protect pregnant women from rubella

Rubella vaccination before pregnancy is an important way to prevent congenital rubella syndrome. A woman who may have been exposed to rubella during pregnancy should contact a healthcare provider promptly.

MEASLES (Tigdas)

Cause

* Caused by the measles virus.
* It is one of the most contagious diseases and spreads through the air when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or breathes.
* The virus can remain infectious in the air or on surfaces for up to about 2 hours.

Signs and symptoms

* 🌡️ High fever
* 🤧 Runny nose
* 😷 Cough
* 👁️ Red and watery eyes
* ⚪ Small white spots inside the cheeks (Koplik spots)
* 🔴 Red rash that usually starts on the face and upper neck and spreads downward to the body, arms and legs.

Possible complications

* 🫁 Pneumonia
* 🧠 Encephalitis or swelling of the brain
* 💧 Severe diarrhea and dehydration
* 👂 Ear infection, which may cause hearing loss
* 👁️ Blindness
* ⚠️ Death in severe cases

Complications are particularly concerning among children below 5 years old, especially those who are malnourished or have weakened immunity.

RUBELLA ( GERMAN MEASLES)

Cause

* Caused by the rubella virus.
* It spreads through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

Signs and symptoms

* 🌡️ Mild fever
* 🔴 Fine pink/red rash, usually starting on the face and neck and spreading downward
* 👂 Swollen lymph nodes, especially behind the ears and in the neck
* 👁️ Mild conjunctivitis
* 🤢 Nausea
* 🦴 Joint pain, particularly in adults
* The rash commonly lasts about 1–3 days.

Possible complications
Rubella is usually mild in children, but it can be very dangerous during pregnancy.

Infection during early pregnancy can cause:

* ❌ Miscarriage
* ❌ Fetal death
* 👂 Hearing impairment
* 👁️ Eye defects
* ❤️ Congenital heart defects
* Developmental problems

These birth defects are collectively called Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS).

Ligtas na Bakuna, Protektadong Bata

Sinisiguro ng Department of Health (DOH) na ligtas at epektibo ang mga bakunang ibinibigay sa Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA).

Bumisita ang DOH Vaccination Team sa mga barangay ng Siembre, Sto. Domingo, at San Roque upang imonitor ang pagbabakuna at masiguro na bawat batang kwalipikado ay mabibigyan ng dagdag na proteksyon laban sa tigdas at rubella.

💉 Bakuna para sa proteksyon.
👧👦 Bawat bata, mahalaga.
❤️ Sama-sama nating palakasin ang proteksyon ng ating komunidad!
