In response to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, Mayor Roderick Awingan has reinstated basic health protocols for all citizens, residents, and visitors under Executive Order No. 103-2026 to curb further transmission.
Records show that as of July 25, 2026, the town has logged 15 cases, comprising 9 males and 6 females, with ages ranging from 11 months to 66 years.
The health and safety standards include the wearing of masks, frequent handwashing, respiratory etiquette, disinfection and physical distancing. Below are the complete details:
โข Use of Masks. Citizens are advised at their option to use face masks in indoor or outdoor spaces. However, it is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED in the following settings:
a. Healthcare facilities, including but not limited to, clinics, hospitals, laboratories, nursing homes, and dialysis clinics
b. Medical Transport Vehicles, such as ambulances and paramedic rescue vehicles
c. When individuals are sick or immunocompromised
โข Frequent Handwashing. Practice frequent handwashing using soap and clean water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
โข Respiratory Etiquette. Observe the following respiratory etiquette mainly when sneezing and coughing especially when in public and crowded places:
a. Cover mouth and nose with tissue or wipes
b. Properly dispose of used tissues or wipes immediately after
c. If tissue is unavailable, use oneโs upper sleeve or arm
d. Avoid coughing into hands which can easily spread viruses
e. Wash hands with soap and water after coughing or sneezing, after contact with an infected person, and after touching potentially contaminated surfaces
โข Refrain from touching oneโs eyes, nose, and mouth especially with unwashed hands and after touching potentially contaminated instruments and surfaces.
โข Disinfection. Ensure regular disinfection particularly of frequently touched surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with the virus
โข Physical Distancing. Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary contact in highly populated areas.
Business and public establishments are also highly encouraged to maintain the free flow of air and set up handwashing areas or provide sanitizers in key locations.
Additionally, concerned offices such as the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, Health Services Office, and barangay officials are tasked to spearhead the dissemination of the EO.
