Did you know? The anti-rabies vaccine can be administered through the intramuscular (IM) route when recommended by a qualified healthcare professional.

👩‍⚕️ Who may receive the IM route?
✔️ Adults and children
✔️ Pregnant or breastfeeding patients
✔️ Immunocompromised patients, when clinically indicated
✔️ Patients with bleeding or other medical conditions where the appropriate vaccination route must be assessed
✔️ Patients who need the standard IM vaccination schedule

Alam mo ba na may Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) laban sa rabies? 🐶🐱💉

Ang Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis ay pagbabakuna laban sa rabies bago pa ma-expose o makagat ng hayop. Layunin nitong magbigay ng proteksyon sa mga taong may mas mataas na posibilidad na ma-expose sa rabies.

👩‍⚕️ Sino ang maaaring mangailangan nito?
• Mga beterinaryo at animal handlers
• Mga taong madalas makipag-ugnayan sa mga hayop
• Hikers, campers at outdoor enthusiasts
• Mga taong nagtatrabaho sa animal rescue o animal control
• Iba pang may mataas na risk ng rabies exposure

💙 Bakit mahalaga ang PrEP?
Mas maagang proteksyon laban sa rabies at mas handa ang katawan sakaling magkaroon ng exposure sa hinaharap.

⚠️ Tandaan: Kahit nabakunahan ng PrEP, mahalaga pa ring magpakonsulta agad pagkatapos ng anumang posibleng rabies exposure.

🐾 ANIMAL BITE FACTS: ALAMIN AT MAG-INGAT! 🐶🐱

Ang kagat o kalmot ng hayop ay hindi dapat balewalain. Maaari itong magdulot ng impeksiyon at rabies, isang nakamamatay na sakit kapag nagkaroon na ng sintomas.

✅ Hugasan agad ang sugat gamit ang sabon at dumadaloy na tubig nang hindi bababa sa 15 minuto.
✅ Magpakonsulta agad sa pinakamalapit na Animal Bite Treatment Center.
✅ Magpabakuna laban sa rabies kung kinakailangan.
✅ Iwasang lumapit o mang-asar ng gala o hindi kilalang hayop.
✅ Panatilihing updated ang anti-rabies vaccination ng mga alagang hayop.

🚨 Huwag hintayin ang sintomas. Sa rabies, bawat minuto ay mahalaga.

🐾 RABIES: Knowing the Signs Can Save a Life!

Rabies is 100% preventable, but once symptoms start, there is no cure. Understanding the stages of the virus is critical for everyone in our community.

Early Warning Signs (Prodromal Stage):
•Fever and headache.
•Unusual tingling, prickling, or itching at the site of the bite.
•General weakness or discomfort.
•Advanced Symptoms (Neurological Stage):
•Hydrophobia: An extreme fear of water or difficulty swallowing.
•Aerophobia: Fear of drafts or fresh air.
•Confusion, agitation, or aggression.
•Hallucinations and muscle spasms.

⚠️ WHAT TO DO IF BITTEN:
•Wash the wound with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes.
•Seek medical attention IMMEDIATELY at the nearest Animal Bite Center.
•Do not wait for symptoms to appear!
