Printing of Health and Nutrition Information Leaflets
Date: September 25, 2026
Purpose: Preparation for the Health and Nutrition Summit
Venue: Barangay Camaman-an
The Barangay Nutrition Action Office (BNAO) of Barangay Camaman-an conducted the printing, preparation, and organization of health and nutrition information leaflets in preparation for the upcoming Health and Nutrition Summit on September 26, 2026.
The BNAO personnel rendered overtime work to complete the printing and preparation of the leaflets and other supporting materials needed for the reporting and presentation during the summit.
The leaflets contain important health and nutrition information, including key points on the barangay's nutrition programs, accomplishments, activities, and interventions. These materials will serve as supporting documents and information materials for the participants and stakeholders.
The overtime preparation was undertaken to ensure that all materials were complete, organized, and ready for the presentation and reporting during the Health and Nutrition Summit.
This activity demonstrates the dedication and commitment of the BNAO and Barangay Camaman-an in supporting the successful implementation and promotion of health and nutrition programs in the community.

9th Regional Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) Conference
Date: September 22–24, 2026
Venue: Malaybalay Folk Arts Theater, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon
Participants: More than 2,000 BNS and nutrition workers from across Region X
The 9th Regional Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) Conference was successfully held on September 22–24, 2026 at the Malaybalay Folk Arts Theater, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, bringing together more than 2,000 participants from different areas of Northern Mindanao.
The conference gathered BNS and nutrition stakeholders from Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Iligan City, Cagayan de Oro City, Gingoog City, Malaybalay City, Valencia City, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Ozamiz City, and Camiguin, among other participating areas in Region X.
The activity provided an opportunity for BNS to share experiences, strengthen skills, exchange best practices, and deepen their commitment to improving community nutrition programs. The conference also featured learning sessions on nutrition advocacy, multisectoral convergence, and strengthening barangay nutrition-sensitive interventions.
A highlight of the opening day was the grand parade of participants, showcasing the unity, enthusiasm, and dedication of BNS and nutrition workers throughout the region.
The participation of LGU Barangay Camaman-an reflected its continuing commitment to strengthening community-based nutrition programs and supporting the important work of its Barangay Nutrition Scholars.

One of the highlights of the 2nd Barangay Ecological Solid Waste Management (BESWM) Summit was the presentation of BNAO Elizabeth C. Sacala on the HAPAG Garden Program of Barangay Camaman-an.

During the discussion, BNAO Elizabeth C. Sacala presented how the HAPAG Garden contributes to food security, improved nutrition, environmental sustainability, and community participation. The presentation emphasized that available spaces can be transformed into productive gardens where families and community members can grow fresh vegetables for household consumption and nutrition-related activities.

The discussion also highlighted the HAPAG Gardens established in Macapaya and Bolonseri, as well as household/container gardening initiatives in different areas of the barangay. These gardens demonstrate the barangay’s efforts to promote urban gardening, proper use of available spaces, waste reduction, and sustainable food production.

BNAO Elizabeth also emphasized the connection between environmental management and nutrition, explaining that maintaining clean surroundings and producing nutritious food can work together in building a healthier community. The HAPAG Garden serves not only as a source of vegetables but also as an avenue for nutrition education, community participation, and strengthening household food security.

The presentation received positive attention as it showcased the continuing efforts of Barangay Camaman-an to integrate ecological solid waste management with nutrition and food security programs. It further encouraged stakeholders and community members to participate in gardening activities and support a cleaner environment, healthier families, and a sustainable barangay.

SAVE SAM ACTIVITY
On August 29, 2026, the SAVE SAM (Severe Acute Malnutrition) activity was conducted in the barangay to provide additional nutritional support to children identified with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).

As part of the activity, fresh vegetables and eggs were distributed to SAM children to help improve their dietary intake and support their nutritional recovery. Parents and caregivers were also encouraged to ensure that the food provided was properly prepared and given to the children as part of their daily meals.

The activity highlighted the barangay’s continued commitment to addressing malnutrition through community-based nutrition interventions, regular monitoring, and provision of nutritious food assistance to vulnerable children.

The Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (BDRRMC) conducted its Quarterly Meeting to strengthen coordination and preparedness among barangay officials, committee members, and partner agencies. The meeting focused on reviewing the barangay’s disaster risk reduction and management activities, assessing preparedness measures, and discussing concerns related to disaster response and community safety.

Key highlights included the presentation and review of accomplishments and activities conducted during the quarter, discussion of identified disaster-related concerns and potential hazards within the barangay, and planning of appropriate preventive and preparedness measures. The committee also emphasized the importance of maintaining effective communication, coordination, and timely response during emergencies.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the BDRRMC members to share updates, recommendations, and proposed actions to further improve the barangay’s disaster preparedness, response, and recovery mechanisms. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to working together to ensure the safety, protection, and resilience of the community.

The SAVE SAM Carmen Valley Rotaract Launching was successfully held on August 22, 2026, at the Macabalan Covered Court, bringing together participants and representatives from different barangays for a meaningful community activity.
Barangay Camaman-an proudly participated in this important event, joining other barangays in supporting the goals and activities of the Carmen Valley Rotaract.
The activity served as an opportunity to strengthen community involvement, partnership, volunteerism, and cooperation among participating barangays and organizations. The active participation of Barangay Camaman-an reflects its continued commitment to supporting programs that promote the welfare and development of the community.

6th Hakab sa Oro Culminating Activity
The 6th Hakab sa Oro Culminating Activity was held on August 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at De Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
The LGU Camaman-an actively participated in this meaningful celebration by bringing six (6) lactating mothers who generously volunteered to donate breast milk. Their participation highlighted the importance of breastfeeding, breast milk donation, and supporting the health and nutrition of infants and young children.
This activity demonstrated the commitment of LGU Camaman-an to promoting breastfeeding and ensuring that every child has access to the best possible nutrition during the early stages of life.
The activity reflects the continued commitment of Punong Barangay Carl Harrison D. Galarrita and the Barangay Council in supporting programs that promote breastfeeding, maternal health, and proper nutrition for children.

SSS – SUGOD SITO SERVICES
Sito Tierra del Puerto, Barangay Camaman-an
The SSS – Sugod Sito Services was successfully conducted at Sito Tierra del Puerto, Barangay Camaman-an, bringing essential barangay services closer to the residents and making government and community services more accessible right in their sitio.
The activity provided a wide range of services, including health center services led by the health personnel headed by Dr. Heide Joy Bahian, health and nutrition assistance, vaccination of cats and dogs, distribution of Vitamin A, and “May Pa-Arrozcaldo” food assistance.
Residents also benefited from haircut and manicure services, while other barangay services and assistance were provided through the participation of the different Barangay-Based Institutions (BBIs).
The activity was made possible through the active support and cooperation of the Barangay Council, health personnel, BNS, BHW, Barangay Tanods, Lupon, CDT, CDV, administrative staff, and other barangay personnel and volunteers.
This meaningful program would not have been possible without the leadership, support, and commitment of Punong Barangay Carl Harrison D. Galarrita, whose dedication to bringing essential services closer to the people continues to strengthen community-based service delivery in Barangay Camaman-an.
The SSS – Sugod Sito Services demonstrates the commitment of Barangay Camaman-an to bring services closer to the people, ensuring that residents receive accessible health, nutrition, social, and community services without having to travel far from their homes.

5th Nutrition Forum
