The hospital was founded as a royal hospital in 1885 by Horace N. Allen.

My 1st patient in Mindanao with Brugada Syndrome (aka Bangungot syndrome) implanted with Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD).


An ICD detects and stops irregular heartbeats, also called arrhythmias. It delivers electric shocks, when needed, to restore a regular heartbeat.

Brugada syndrome is a rare, inherited heart rhythm disorder that causes dangerous, rapid heartbeats (ventricular arrhythmias) and a high risk of sudden cardiac death, often during sleep. It frequently affects young, otherwise healthy individuals—often in their 40s—and is diagnosed via specific ECG patterns.
