Two brothers (ages 6 and 10), with a history of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis, traveled all the way from Butuan City for consult.

Skin prick testing for aeroallergens (STAA)/food allergens (STFA) was done on both boys — and despite being siblings, their allergy profiles showed different stories!

🔹 6-year-old: positive to house dust mites (HDM) and peanuts only
🔹 10-year-old: positive to HDM, cockroach, shrimp, bagoong alamang, crabs, and peanuts

This is a reminder that allergies can vary greatly even within the same family. Proper testing helps us personalize avoidance strategies and treatment plans for better control and quality of life.
