Rabies is 100% preventable, but almost always fatal once symptoms appear.
✅ If bitten, scratched, or licked on broken skin by a dog, cat, or other mammal:
Wash the wound immediately with soap and running water for 15 minutes.
Apply antiseptic if available.
Do not apply garlic, toothpaste, coffee, or other home remedies.
Seek medical care immediately at the nearest Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC).
Complete the recommended anti-rabies vaccination schedule.
⚠️ Even a small bite or scratch can transmit rabies if the animal is infected.
Protect yourself and your family:
Vaccinate pets regularly.
Avoid contact with stray animals.
Report animal bites promptly.
Get vaccinated after exposure without delay.
