Pinapayuhan ang publiko na manatiling maingat kaugnay ng pagkakaroon ng haze na posibleng dulot ng usok mula sa mga forest fire sa Indonesia. Kung kinakailangang lumabas, magsuot ng face mask at iwasang manatili nang matagal sa mga lugar na may kapansin-pansing haze o usok.

Patuloy na subaybayan ang mga opisyal na abiso ukol sa kalidad ng hangin at magsagawa ng kaukulang pag-iingat.

CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO — Tricycle drivers of Calapan City joined the celebration of Lung Month 2026 at the Kalap Gymnasium, City College of Calapan, on September 26, 2026, promoting lung health and healthy living.

The activity was led by the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Cluster, headed by Dr. Kathleen May Joy C. Aldovino, together with the City Health and Sanitation Department (CHSD) under the leadership of Dr. Basilisa M. Llanto.

The event was graced by City Mayor Atty. Doy C. Leachon, who shared his personal experiences and insights on maintaining good health and healthy lungs. Board Member B**g Brucal also emphasized the importance of protecting lung health.

An Inspirational Interview and Testimony was also shared by Ms. Loreta Flores Gile, a teacher, who spoke about her experiences with lung health and the importance of support and dedication in achieving better health.

Pulmonologists Dr. Rosalyn H. Sebastian and Dr. Cristia Maysol Morales shared valuable insights on common lung diseases, prevention, and smoking cessation.

The activity was supported by the Philippine College of Chest Physicians, Oriental Mindoro Medical Society, Oriental Mindoro Provincial Health Office, Yakult Philippines, and Calapan Waterworks Corporation.

Together, we continue to promote healthier lungs and a healthier, more vibrant community.

CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO — Matagumpay na isinagawa ang Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) sa Xentro Mall noong Agosto 21–22 at HIA Gymnasium noong Agosto 23, 2026.

Layunin ng mga vaccination site na mas mailapit ang pagbabakuna sa mga pamilyang may mga batang 6 buwan hanggang 59 buwan, kabilang ang mga pamilyang namimili sa mall at mga nagsisimba sa Sto. Niño Cathedral.

Patuloy ang MR-SIA vaccination hanggang Setyembre 4 sa mga Barangay Health Center at CHSD Rural Health Units.

Bakuna ngayon, proteksyon para sa kinabukasan! Sama-sama nating sugpuin ang tigdas at rubella.

To ensure the safety and effectiveness of the program, the Department of Health (DOH), through the Center for Health Development MIMAROPA (CHD) and the Oriental Mindoro Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO), conducted a monitoring visit for the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) 2026 in Calapan City on August 8, 2026.

The monitoring focused on the implementation of vaccination activities, adherence to program guidelines, proper documentation, community mobilization, and cold chain management to ensure that vaccines are safely stored, handled, and administered according to established standards. 💉❤️

The City Health and Sanitation Department (CHSD) continues to work closely with the DOH, barangays, and community partners to ensure that every eligible child is reached, vaccinated, and protected through safe, effective, and guideline-compliant immunization services.

Every child matters. Every vaccine counts.

𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

Amid the sea waves and the stories of history that have shaped its community, Barangay Wawa took an important step toward achieving Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) status through a verification activity conducted on August 13, 2026.

The ZOD Verification Team, composed of CHSD Environmental Health Sanitation Inspectors, conducted the verification together with representatives from the City Budget Department, SP Committee on Health, SP Committee on Environment, League of Barangay Captains, and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

The verification was conducted as part of the City Government of Calapan’s continuing campaign to achieve Zero Open Defecation in every community, strengthening efforts to promote proper sanitation, environmental cleanliness, and healthier communities across the city.

It shows that when a community comes together with a shared commitment, a cleaner environment and a healthier future become possible.
