Rabies is a serious disease caused by the bite, scratch, or saliva of an infected animal such as dogs, cats, or bats. Once symptoms appear, rabies can cause death. However, rabies can be prevented if proper treatment and vaccination are given immediately after exposure.
Important Reminder:
âś… Wash the wound immediately with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes
âś… Apply antiseptic if available
âś… Go to the nearest Animal Bite Treatment Center or clinic immediately
âś… Complete all recommended anti-rabies vaccine doses
Do NOT:
❌ Ignore animal bites or scratches
❌ Put garlic, toothpaste, coffee, or other home remedies on the wound
❌ Wait for symptoms before seeking treatment
