Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1204, June is observed as National Dengue Awareness Month in the Philippines. This annual observance aims to raise public awareness and encourage communities to work together in preventing and controlling dengue.

The City Health Office encourages everyone to practice the 5S Strategy Against Dengue:

๐ŸฆŸ Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Secure self-protection by wearing long sleeves and using mosquito repellent
๐Ÿฅ Seek early consultation at the first sign of fever or dengue symptoms
๐Ÿšœ Support fogging or spraying in hotspot areas with clustering cases
๐Ÿ’ง Sustain hydration, especially when experiencing fever

As dengue cases often rise during the rainy season, health centers, hospitals, local government units, schools, and community organizations conduct clean-up drives, health education activities, and dengue prevention campaigns throughout the month.

Together, let us keep our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities safe and dengue-free. ๐ŸฆŸโŒ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ“ข Strengthening Awareness and Early Action Against Tuberculosis ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ’™

As part of the continuing efforts of the Candon City Health Office to combat Tuberculosis (TB), an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Session on Pulmonary Tuberculosis was conducted for individuals identified with presumptive TB findings on chest X-ray during the recently concluded TB Active Case Finding Caravan.

The activity aimed to increase awareness on the signs and symptoms of TB, importance of early consultation and treatment, proper cough etiquette, prevention of transmission, and the availability of free TB services at the City Health Office.

Through health education and community engagement, the City Health Office continues to promote early detection, timely treatment, and improved public awareness in support of a healthier and TB-free Candon City. ๐Ÿ’™

We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and seek medical consultation if experiencing symptoms such as prolonged cough, fever, weight loss, or night sweats.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Free TB screening (GeneXpert) and treatment are available at the City Health Office.
