The Municipality of Caoayan, through the Municipal Health Office headed by Dr. Lyndon John Albay successfully launched the school-based immunization program at Caoayan Integrated School, providing protection to learners against vaccine-preventable diseases.

The activity includes Measles-Rubella (MR) and Tetanus-Diphtheria (TD) vaccination for Grade 1 and Grade 7 learners, and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination for Grade 4 and 5 learners.

This initiative highlights the importance of immunization in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of schoolchildren. Through the collaboration of health personnel, school officials, teachers, and parents, we continue to work toward a healthier and better-protected generation.

This October 2026, the Provincial Health Office of Ilocos Sur, in partnership with the Department of Health, Local Government Units, and schools, will conduct the School-Based Immunization (SBI) program to help protect our learners from vaccine-preventable diseases.
